Lindstrom has been hammering his new album hard in his live sets, so that.

Nic Fanciulli & Joris Voorn essential listening is their live set from Electric Zoo this past year. Very well-paced, groovy, and propulsive without being overwhelming. Nice sunset set.

Looks like I may skipping Lindstrom. Which fucking sucks because the two previous times I've seen him have been at less than ideal environments for his sound, and DEMF would be absolutely perfect.

Yea, I'm not into his new album, but let's see what happens when the set times come out.

You're into Slow Hands, right, Patrick? He was fantastic when I saw him in December, can't wait for that set at DEMF.

Holy crap. I'm listening to Dopplereffekt for the first time. I knew/had been told that this is something that would really be up my alley, but holy crap. 10 minutes in and I'm so excited for DEMF that I can barely type.

I almost decided to open the mystery box at 11:30AM. Bad sign / great music.

It's not so much a mystery box, but rather a box of mysteries....

    And yes, it's been opened.

Really dig the music... but every live video I've seen is crazy disappointing.

That was a live set. Like I said, it was amazing for about 20 minutes... I did wander away to another room at that point, so I need to give it another go, but there were some tracks in the latter half that were nicht sehr gut

    This? http://soundcloud.com/fxxp/dopplereffekt-bloc-2011-live

About to give it a try.

Edit: lasted 8 mins, sounded like video game music from 10 years ago. Is this a bad link, or just bad?

It's not even so much the music I'm talking about... just crazy boring on stage.

so when did you see 'them'?

I seem to see at least a small bit of progression in their live sets over the years. I dig the bloc set.

Man, J. Phlip was so damned good last night I nearly want to go to that Dirtybird party now. But I know there will be something even crazier going on. Still though, moving effortlessly from booty bass to old school sounding electro to techno to house and back to booty bass again, I was thoroughly impressed. And she threw down for a 3/4ths empty room. I also realized I'm not even close to physically prepared for DEMF. I really need to start up an exercise regiment.

I haven't. And wasn't trying to imply that I had... just that I've watched videos of the live set (last one was from late 2010) and they make me want to skip that set for... well... anything else that might be on at the time.

I'm definitely not expecting anything visually stimulating from that set. I'm excited for the pure sonic textures they'll be providing.

Yessss. She is seriously talented at throwing it down. Always love a J. Phlip set.

It made me sad to think of how awesome it'd have been at a gay bar. Instead every gay bar in the world plays Lady Gaga and Black Eye Peas. Because "I Gotta Feeling" really is more primal and dirty and worthy of some nasty low down grinding than booty bass.

I feel pretty prepared for DEMF actually. You guys can run and eat well. I'm just going to pull all nighters for the next 2 months for 'practice.'

I'm not prepared AT ALL. I need to start screening children's movies so I know which one will be the best to watch when I inevitably duck out of the festival.
