I'm so glad there's no dead mouse or the like. This feels like a festival for adults. There's very little pandering to the young crowd on that lineup. Seriously- Skrillex and I'm guessing com truse are the only things I recognize as total garbage.

I've had quite a few terrifying moments when a Venetian Snares track comes up on random on my ipod. Some of that stuff is just crazy.

With that said, I plan on seeing this set.

The Dirtbombs, a Detroit garage-punk band, will offer festival-goers a brand new twist on some Techno classics from the 80s and 90s. During their live set at the Movement Festival they will perform tracks from their album “Party Store” which offers the bands interpretation of some of Detroit’s most recognized Techno hits.


Some of the reinterpreted tracks festival-goers should expect to hear are “Alleys of Your Mind” originally by Cybotron, “Strings of Life” originally by Derrick May, “Good Life” originally by Kevin Saunderson, “Bug in the Bassbin” originally by Carl Craig as Innerzone Orchestra.


“There's is no bigger honor than playing the vitaminwater stage at Movement this year,” said The Dirtbombs drummer Ben Blackwell. ”To be covering the songs of Juan Atkins, Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson, Mike Banks, et al in front of a crowd that knows their catalog inside and out will be a challenge to say the least.”

You have to remember, that album was released in 1994. It was recorded using all gear with little or no computer assistance in the studio.

Its going to be interesting to see him play live.
