so what's so bad about St. Andrews? Just that it's too hot? On the RA forums for the Life and Death party somebody said the promoters said they're getting a bunch of high powered fans to cool things down this year. I think I'm gonna go to that Life and Death party there. the Flying Circus one looks really sweet but Maceo Plex takes the cake for me. Benoit & Sergio would be really sweet though. Maybe they'll play the Hot Creations Monday night party as well?

I'm now I'm thinking arrive late Friday night -> sleep -> fest -> Dirtybird -> sleep -> fest -> Life and Death -> Old Miami -> fest -> Hot Creations

Then there's the TV Lounge party with Michael Mayer, jozif, Rick Wade & Mike Huckaby on Sunday night to consider. Every. Damn. Year.

St andrews was fine as a venue but it had no air flow and the main room was hot as balls. High powered fans dont really do shit in a giant room full of people. They had some giant fans last year and unless you elbowed your way right in front of them they did nothig. When im tripping i really dont like being uncomfortable and hot and st andrews was both.
Also ive seen everyone at the life and death party a few times, id rather check out some shit ive never heard of.

Didn't realize Dax was one of the promoters, nice. Also nice about that lineup is the names from the Made in Detroit stage....Ugh. Maybe I'll actually do 2 after parties this year?

It's the Great Lakes. I'd be surprised if there was no rain at all during the weekend. I am more concerned with cold weather at night. They were still having snow showers 2 weeks ago. Hell, my family in Northern Ohio a couple of hours from Detroit has snow this week.

I live less than a mile from the Greatest of the Great Lakes. I'm cool with rain if it's above 75 degrees. I think the night time weather will change soon for the better. When I checked the other day it looked like rain all 3 days. It's cleared up a bit.

Creep, you know as well as I do that there is no point in checking weather forecasts this far in advance. It's the midwest. Just be prepared for hot weather, cold weather, rain, ... the first year I went there was a tornado warning and crazy wind gusts all day on Sunday.

For Sunday morning, I'm actually warming up to that Resolute party. All of my previous attempts to see Camea have ended up with me blacking out and traveling to another point in time, and consequently, not "seeing" Camea even though I was physically present at the show. So, I might try to see her again. Or, you know, have my own personal "Shit-show-esque party."

I'm sure this show has been mentioned here but just in case. Bunker throws the best parties here so I'm sure it'll be a great time...

    NO WAY BACK
    18+, 11PM - 9AM
    1515 Broadway, Detroit
    advance tickets available from IT

    ERIKA live
    Ectomorph, IT, Erika.net | Detroit

    BMG

    MIKE SERVITO
    Ghostly, The Bunker | Brooklyn

    CARLOS SOUFFRONT
    Interdimensional Transmissions | SF

    PATRICK RUSSELL
    Mentalux | Brooklyn

    BRYAN KASENIC
    The Bunker, Beyond | Brooklyn

SCOTT ZACHARIAS 7:30 am sleaze set
Macho City, Secret Mixes / Fixes | Detroit

No Way Back is not a festival, it is not an event - it is a party. What began in an abandoned Detroit building with a leaky roof (it rained on the dance floor!) and an audiophile sound system has now moved to the entirely legal and historic 1515 Broadway, home to the original Music Institute where Derrick May solidified his international reputation as artists like Depeche Mode and New Order would make their way there to hear the musical revolution of groundbreaking DJs like D Wynn and Chez Damier.

If you don't understand the touchstones of this party, it might be impossible to explain. It is a comment on a continuum. For many of us it began the 90s, searching through fliers at Record Time, calling info lines and buying your ticket at Zoots only to get lost trying to find that elusive warehouse. What was inside? Something amazing... This is our generation returning to the source, feeling a freedom and a heat within the music that resulted in speaker fucking.

Every generation experiences this, whether it was at The Sanctuary, Better Days, The Loft, The Paradise Garage, The Warehouse, The Shrine, Cosmic, Luomos, The Muzic Box, The Hacienda, Medusa's, The Music Institute, or Berghain. You might not even know that you have soul until you experience being totally lost in the sound and realizing there is no way back, at all.

Every DJ chosen to play at No Way Back is a master of their medium, so deep in it that they all serve as constant inspirations. This is a celebration of the lost art of the late night Midwestern DJ. This is what makes the collaboration between Interdimensional Transmissions and the Bunker so effortless, as they both are champions of this, with The Bunker residents like Mike Servito and Bryan Kasenic being long time IT collaborators.
