Hey guys for good beers go to Ye Olde Butcher Shoppe in the midtown area. It's an upscale grocer right on Woodward about 1 mile from the fest grounds. http://www.yeoldebutchershoppedetroit.com/

I'll reply back with a bar list near the fest when I get home tonight.

OK by far the best place to get great beers is Foran's Grand Trunk. Here is their Jolly Pumpkin menu: http://www.grandtrunkpub.com/beer-me...el-aged-beers/

Check out their other beer menus here: http://www.grandtrunkpub.com/beer-menu/

They are about 2 blocks from the fest right up woodward and usually have DJ's throughout the weekend. HIGHLY recommended for any beer fan. PLUS you can buy beer to go!

I was going to put a list together but most bars have a decent enough beer selection nowadays anyways. It's become the cool thing to have micro brews, especially Michigan Microbrews, available at most bars.

Cara, I think the mexican stuff was from Honey Bee.

adamjab -- awesome! Thanks! I think most of us will be looking for someplace convenient to buy beer to take back to our rooms rather than hitting up bars though. (Just guessing based on the hours of day that are unused after considering the festival and after parties. )

Mexican stuff was indeed from Honey Bee which isn't too far from Corktown Inn (2-3 minute drive). In 2011 I went Sunday and Monday before I went into the festival and that was my meal for the day.

not exactly from what I was told...they said I'd have to buy a VIP pass, then they could refund me for my original GA pass I guess, so a little more complicated but still doable, has to be soon though before they ship your GA pass

^ It's not that complicated, and they've made good on immediately refunding my friends who've done it past. It's worth doing.

New Brendon Moeller podcast out on LWE: http://www.littlewhiteearbuds.com/po.../#.UYAhBrU3srZ

It sounds like there’s a shift in your music — not so much away from the dub influences, but more towards harder techno. Do you think that’s true? If so is this a conscious move?

I think it is just the result of me listening to and being inspired by the genre. My first official DJ gig was in 1987 in an industrial/punk nightclub in Johannesburg. I loved this gig to death and was sad to see it come to an end when somebody jumped up into the booth and threatened to stab me for not playing a particular Conflict song. I’m enjoying the resurgence of harder industrial sounds happening in techno. Hopefully live techno is the future of techno!
Ugh that underground stage is going to get HEAVY

Uhm. YES, I'm loving that influence in techno

Though I think it's official 'over' now since RA had a headline back in January about the new sound of industrial techno... :P

I've gone to the dark side and have been listening to a lot of bass-music-type stuff of which I can't even pinpoint the right genre.

Anybody know of a quick and easy way to lay this out in a more traditional schedule format so it's easier to identify conflicts?
