I don't know what they are playing now, but when I saw them around 10 years ago it was a great set. A lot of tech house and the occasional deep/progressive from that time. i remember they liked to play Tiefschwarz, Desyn Masiello and Cirez d regularly in their sets.

Fans of Hawtin and the Black Dog should check Matador. Minus loved those bleeps and kicks from the very first time and signed him a couple of years ago.

Squarepusher live is always hit or miss. From his recent shows, it looks like these dates are a part 2 of his Ufabulum tour from last year. Tom's need for constant reinvention and change makes him forget of all his past gems, so I wouldn't get my hopes up on hearing older material. He will very likely close with a live version of Journey to Reedham, which will make the set worth it and will be one of the festival highlights.

Also, has anyone seen Onra live? I haven't heard much about his live shows, but I love his music. The first Chinoiseries album is incredible and everyone should listen to it. It would be cool to hear some feedback on his shows from board members.

It'll depend on how long his set time is. (I saw him twice at festivals and once at a solo show on that tour). If he has only an hour or so, it will be only Ufabulum material. The sets that were 1.5 hours had about 20 minutes of other material (the live improvisation with guitar). I would be surprised if he really did change the set much, since what I've described is designed around the a/v components of his show. I have to say, 2 of 3 times I saw it it was really good, the third time (the solo show) it was completely flat... the guitar part at the end was awkward that night, combined with bad/quiet sound. Not sure what I think of it for Movement to be honest. I'm assuming he will be at the main stage due to the size of the setup, and I don't know if I like this outdoors.

Check out Moby, if you can find any of his stuff. That kid's got a lot of potential.

    A local rundown:

Reference- great live show. Tech house to techno. Good mix of analog digital tools. Highly recommend!
Buzz Goree- good ol fashion Detroit techno.
Annie Hall/ Corbin Davis- usually open up for the CLR type artists.
    Calico- dub step
Dabrye- hip hop, techno, cool beats type of music. Real interesting stuff usually.
Jason Kendig- from Detroit now in San Fran plays a good mix of house techno. Always a solid set.
Ronin selecta with bomb scare- think dnb type stuff with an mc. Always a hit not my taste though.

I left 20 min or so in at his Seattle show due it being nothing but sound issues and terrible tracks. Saw him do a b2b with Kiat in San Diego a couple years ago, nothing but trainwrecks and poor track selection from Sinistarr. Left that show disappointed since I had heard good things from people. I could give him another shot here in a couple weeks but his track record with me is shit plus it's on a Tuesday. Enjoy his show at demf!

So who are our main stage headliners this year? I assumed Moby would be headlining one night, but according to his official Facebook page he's playing the Beatport stage on May 25.

When phase 1 came out, this article states http://www.freep.com/article/2013013...ineup-Detroit:

Hawtin will headline the main stage May 25, with May and Saunderson teaming up to close out the fest May 27. The Sunday night headliner has not been set.
Masters at Work being the 3rd, perhaps?

Francios k is a nyc dj that does a weekly spot on monday nights. Ive seen him play a few styles but it is mainly deep house.

As far as headliners go, didnt gestaffelstein headline the dance tent at bestival last year?
"How long will this last, this delicious feeling of being alive, of having penetrated the veil which hides beauty and the wonders of celestial vistas? It doesn't matter, as there can be nothing but gratitude for even a glimpse of what exists for those who can become open to it."

You're batty if you think Gestaffelstein would headline DEMF on the mainstage. He'll play the Beatport stage or something, maybe at night.

"Headlining" a dance tent at a festival that is not focused on electronic music, is a lot different than headlining an electronic music festival (or a main stage at any festival). Gestaffelstein is not a headliner.

Creep - airport to downtown/hart plaza is ~30 minutes, provided there is not heavy traffic. The Tigers have home games the whole weekend so you might want to check the schedule to see what times of day are going to have a lot of traffic.

Drinking in the car when driving away from the airport towards the festival is generally a better idea than drinking in the car on the way to the airport after the festival....
