I find these videos embarrassing for the obvious reasons.
My plans are not going to go exactly as expected if they're staying at the Corktown. Not about to take a cab to make sure they're not skipping parties to watch dragon movies.
Wondered when DJ Kekaine would make an appearance....
Yes that was the Leland & City Life I stayed at. I tried searching for any info on it closing but all I can find now is info on it being an apartment building for the eccentric & weird. City Life's page has had no activity since 2008. Found an interesting spiel on Murder Motels website. No wonder I though that place felt haunted.

Wow, the Leland reviews actually sound better than the Corktown.... but... no free porn, I bet.
Cara, I hope when you say one after party, you mean an actual after party, not hanging out in someone's room drinking beer and taking xanax.
It's not my fault that ya'll are drug pushers.

"How long will this last, this delicious feeling of being alive, of having penetrated the veil which hides beauty and the wonders of celestial vistas? It doesn't matter, as there can be nothing but gratitude for even a glimpse of what exists for those who can become open to it."
But, yes. My goal is one actual after party + Old Miami.

That house that accommodates 9 I posted a couple pages back is 5 mins / 2.47 miles Via I-75 N.
For fun: Also, that 7,000 per week house https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/394961

Here here. Can't say for sure though yet since I haven't secured my flights/festival pass and probably won't be able to for at least another month. Does DEMF typically sell out?
Also ya'll should check out Brendon Moeller's album "Works" on Electric Deluxe. Amazing album.

What the hell, Nate? Why isn't Josef Gaard booked for an after party?

Regarding these AirBNB posts, let me just reiterate again that you don't want to stay in the suburbs, nor miles from the festival site. There will be a lot of traffic, you do not want to drive drunk/fucked up, you do not want to be driving around lost, and you are going to have a tough time getting shuttles/cabs from those areas if you decide not to drive.
Wait, was the Leland at the same location as City Club? (400 Bagley)? That venue was definitely still open last year. That's where the dirtybird party was.
Does this URL work for you all? The after party info is last year's, of course, but gives you an idea of where the venues and major hotels are:

Yes Chiapet thats it! The blogger on the Murder Motels site said she stayed there as of last september for Makers Faire (which I plan on attending this year at Henry Ford Museum). Its really odd there isn't any straight forward information on this place. I really wanna stay there again.
Detroit is so weird... I remember in 2011, a few of us were on the roof of the Bang Tech party at Bookie's on Friday night, and noticed that a building across the way was being demolished at ~1AM. Same general area as the Leland. Oh, Detroit.
My fondest memory of Detroit was going to see Trans Am play at St. Andrews Hall. I had no idea the championship for the Stanley Cup was going on down the street. Redwings won and that city was full on party mode. Trashcans on fire people running in the streets naked... what a fantastic night that was.
So A Tribe Called Red is fucking neato:
