I guess im retiring my Old Miami days in lieu of the night programming. Both will not be possible.

I can do it all! I plan at being at an after party on Sunday night, and Old Miami on Monday morning. (Why not? I did it last year, and the Sunday early morning party).

But like I said, Old Miami at 7AM is one thing, after noon is a shit show as far as I'm concerned.

I remember it being pretty steamy on the boat, but at least you can get into the fresh air for a bit when you want.

Or, can just stay on the deck chain smoking for hours. :/

It just didn't really come together as a live act. It may have been that it was at the very end of the last day and I was just straight up exhausted. It wasn't particularly bad really, and of course it was pretty cool to hear those songs performed, I mean Juan Atkins was my entryway into Detroit techno and I still hold those early Cybotron/Model 500 tracks in the highest regard, but it kind of lacked energy and Juan's vocals were kind of a mess.

I was also disappointed with Model 500, when they were in SF a couple of months ago. Ended up leaving the set early because it was just kind of... boring? and ended up going to see a different show.

Edit: I left with friends and went to catch the end of James Murphy's DJ set that night. I was a little surprised when we got there to see a bunch of people (who are pretty old school when it comes to techno) had also migrated from the Model 500 show to James Murphy.

I really doubt it. Dettman vs klock, Luke Slater PAS live, and Digweed seem like the only possible headliners at the moment.

I'd hope Dettmann & Klock are not the 'headliner' at the main stage. TECHNO BUNKER.

I wouldn't be surprised to see them on the mainstage this year. I'm not necessarily opposed, so long as it's at night.

Yeah, Andrew, none of those 3 will headline the mainstage. I'll eat my words and stay out all night at an after party if they do. The 3rd headliner will be announced in this second phase.

Hawtin will headline the main stage May 25, with May and Saunderson teaming up to close out the fest May 27. The Sunday night headliner has not been set.

There aren't many fests where the headliners matters less than this one though.

I'm surprised they didnt have digweed headline to be honest. He headlines much bigger techno based festivals around the world. Also, his closing sets are usually much better.

The headliners for DEMF are always a bit skewed though, because I think they always try to make it a figure significant to Detroit. I honestly can't think of who the 3rd one might be.

He could still close a night, just on a different stage. Beatport would be probable. It's hard to predict how things will be scheduled except bass-y stuff usually ends up on Red Bull and Made In Detroit speaks for itself.
