KMS could be the best fucking thing ever, or it could just be good... I'm willing to sacrifice $20 to the techno gods to make sure I have a place there in case it's unmissable.![]()

Found last year's Need I Say More poster, it was definitely 7AM, and $10. (As I posted before I edited my post). Interesting that they are starting a bit later this year. I wonder if that means I will sleep for a couple of hours on Monday......
RA's Michigan event pages combined with the official Movement afterparty listings will keep you updated on errything that's fit to print:

^^^ I've been stalking RA every single day for Barcelona & Detroit listings. Since I don't have enough after party options, right?
Hopefully I get some kind of bonus recognition in next year's board award? eh, eh? 8^)
Yea, MJA, keep your eyes on these pages!
Im excited for what the next few weeks hold. The shit show lineup should be revealed tomorrow, the boat is coming out, I <3 Techno and the reveal of Circo Loco. Plus hopefully some fun stuff monday and the richie party, which might not get announced before the festival.

Alright guys I've been following this thread for a while now, big thanks for all the info.
Question of the day is- Saturday Afterparties: Dirtybird vs. Moodymann Soulskate vs. CircoLoco (which is sure to be killer!) Out of experience which one of these is can't miss? Does any one venue make or break the party?
Thanks everyone, really lookin' forward to DETROIT!
Locals have said good things about TV Lounge where Circo Loco is being held. And Ellen Allien is headlining, so that's kind of a big deal. Apparently the Dirtybird parties are supposed to be a blast too. I suspect Soulskate is going to be more locals and way less party-circuit types if only because it's a ways out of downtown, if that makes a difference.
My two goals for Sat. night:
-Check out the Down & Out Party for a while. Hopefully Troy & Magda.
-See Ellen Allien at all costs.
**Oh damn. I just realized that if Ellen is going to play Circo Loco it's nearly guaranteed that a few more Bpitch Control peeps are, too. That going to be a really good party. Hmmm.
Personally, based on last year, Circoloco is a can't miss. It is garunteed to be a good party regardless of line-up (which will likely be good). It will be packed, sweaty and hot as hell in the main room with muisic on the patio and upstairs. It will be one of my Sat night options no matter what as it continues into the morning/afternoon with a patio party (it is easy to end your night/morning there). My second party for earlier that night will likely be Beretta.

Very cool to hear out of towners excited to come to my hometown to party with the techno music! Found this board while googling something about the festival. If you guys need a local perspective let me know! Although you all seem like seasoned vets.
I have to work around the weekend. My plans are:
Work Saturdaybut then going to CLR the whole night! Not going to miss that thing for the world! Tommy four seven is who I REALLLY want to see. If he is on 'early' then I may go somewhere else like the Beretta Party.
Sunday: Shit Show, Festival, then No Way Back Party
Monday: Not sure.
I wish I could be in five different places on saturday! Soulskate will have many locals. There are a contingent of Detroiters who still take roller skating very seriously and with moodyman on board it sure beats skating around to bel biv divo. You could start out there and come back downtown for Dirtybird which will go late and is in a old,big goth club below a dumpy hotel/apartment building. So you could do both. Not too sure about CircoLoco because there is not much else on it but TV bar is one of my favorite places to see any event lately.
I LOVED Circo Loco last year, that's the main reason I have not jumped on tickets for any other parties that night. But I've also heard good things about I Love You But I've Chosen Techno. I'm waiting to see what those lineups look like before making a decision. The only bad thing I can say about TV Lounge was that it was really, uncomfortably packed last year... there were many times when I tried to go into the main room and just couldn't deal with how hot and how crowded it was. Fortunately the upstairs had great music, and the patio was quite nice.
My schedule is probably going something like this:
Friday: Bang Tech 12
Saturday: festival -> Circo Loco or I've Chosen Techno
Sunday: Shit Show -> festival -> Rare Forms -> KMS 25 (or vice versa)
Monday: Old Miami -> Festival -> ?
Soulskate sounds fun but it's so far from downtown that I doubt many non-locals will make the effort.
Really happy to see travelers and locals alike stumble upon our little obsessive thread! I'm sure to have questions concerning Detroit.
As for D&O: I've not heard really ecstatic reports about the shows. One report coming from Chicago, the other, Germany (somewhere). The people said the atmosphere was nice and all but that Magda was just meh central. Who knows. I'll be travelling a lot saturday night. Just going to go to every party there is. Fuck it.

Saturday night is movie night everyone.
5/25-5/27: MOVEMENT DETROIT
6/6: The Field @ The Independent
6/26: Colin Stetson @ The Chapel
This year should be sick.
A few of the after parties will be top notch.
Which ones karl?
