I'm kind of the same way in my reluctance to focus my attention on weight lost. While that goes somewhat in hand with getting healthier, it hasn't often been an apt barometer of my progress since I'll build muscle.
They just opened a new community center a couple miles from our house that I want to start going to. If there are leagues Jen & I can get into -- volleyball, racquetball, etc. -- I think we'll have more success in sticking with it since it'll be more interesting and the competition bred will be a more compelling reason to do so (especially for me).
I have replaced the kinds of snacks; my favorite of late has been this sugar-free jello pudding that has only 60 calories. I strayed away from it immediately after the wedding when 1) we were on our honeymoon and 2) we had leftover wedding cake taking residency in our freezer. And my deviations also occur when I get to drinking. Maybe it isn't so much the late night snacking as the persistent snacking throughout the day. Today, for instance, I've been very good, but I'm at home and it's only 1 and I worry that it'll only be a matter of time before my compulsion to eat kicks in again and gets too strong to resist. But you're right, having better options around rather than trying to resist the temptation completely is smarter.
Thanks, bmack, for the recipe. I'm tasked with making dinner once a week & would like the things I can make consist of more than just turkey burgers with crinkle-cut sweet potato fries.
With Weight Watchers switching up the plan, I'm pretty much forced to eat cleaner. More protein...less processed food. PointsPlus is based on how your body actually processes food, so I'm excited. I actually dug out my ancient George Foreman grill today to make some cod with Herbs From Provence...still works great.
If what I'm eating for the next few weeks translates to success on the scale, I'll post a typical day.
Another one of my favorite relatively healthy meals is just buying one of the japanese curry bars from the market and making up a batch of chicken curry. I think the spicy one is the best, but it obviously depends on how much heat you like. Bell peppers, carrots, potatoes, onions and celery are always great things to add, and you can really pack in veggies when you do this. It also makes a good 2 or 3 meals.

i just sorta skimmed. rick, i'm not big into raquetball anymore, but if you're ever up for a game of tennis, i have rackets & balls in my trunk at all times! maybe after work someday we could play
i also agree with cara that i just miss being toned. i still walk, but i have gotten out of the habit of going every day, it's more like 3-4 times a week. today though i woke up & hit up this steep hiking trail near my house. the past few times i've gone, i couldn't make it all the way up without stopping. but today i did it. i'm getting back on track, but it's hard with work, school, friends & my boyfriend. thankfully he's into being active and we might go an hike later today as well. i think i'll have a good opportunity to get back on track when he goes home for the holidays. the holidays have made it hard to eat right too. potlucks, parties, i can't say no to free food! and it's hard to cut back on the beer. i'm trying to drink more red wine, but i really just need to drink less in general.
and i'll be brave, i'm currently 165 and i haven't been here in awhile. i would ideally like to be back in the 145-150 range. anything below 145 looks horrible.
so i support everyone's fitchella efforts and hope to be fit with y'all on the polo fields next year![]()
Just eat what you want and cocaine off the tubbs.
"All of you coachella 'regulars' have nasty boy pussies and itchy dick4's on your asses.
Why don't you all make like a tree and get chopped down and die. You all have been dreadfully mean to me.
I Hate you. All of you. None of you will ever get to see a womans chest meat or finger blast hott cougies like me.
Fuck you all. Consider this my resignation.
Fair the well, you elitest scumbags."

i'm hopping on this train too, i need to lose a few.
the music is what its all about, you love it just like i love it.
im in. I was able to work off 24lbs last year but have since given a bit back. My biggest problem is getting a single routine and sticking too it. Not only does this get boring but you stop pushing yourself. What I try to do now is work out with someone who is in better shape, and to try and do a physical activity rather than cardio.
As of yesterday I was 224 and I'm going to push for 210 for Coachella.

I really like Dole diced fruit in lite syrup as a quick snack, but yeah, it really doesn't sate my appetite. Having food so readily available and packaged makes it so easy to just consume and consume, so I've actually started to spend 10-15 minutes preparing snacks--cutting things up, making a salsa or something. Spending that time actually seems to work in terms of me being satisfied once I eat the food and not diving in for more.

I'm trying to do the paleo diet which consists mainly of lean meats, vegetables, fruits, and nuts. So far I've been pretty consistent with it although I do eat rice and drink milk sometimes. I feel more energetic than ever and hopefully If I continue my running schedule I'll be able to run the LA marathon in 4 hours.
