My wife and I will be at Mark Farina. We saw Mark and Marques at Vanguard in LA for NYE 2007 and had an amazing time, so we have high hopes for this party.

Good to know. Also, Julius Papp is spinning from 9 to 2 am in something called the ufunk lounge at the Farina show. "An exclusive set, traveling through the funk, jazz, disco, downtempo continuum" - sounds like a good place to begin the evening and an occasional breather.

Are you guys expecting a big line to get into this place? Do I need to get there early or would 10:30 be cool? I haven't done a NYE in SF, so I don't know what kind of potential clusterfuck I'm getting involved in.

I was thinking not too much later than 10. (But I suppose it really depends on the set times). There is a tendency in SF to show up with enough time to have a couple of drinks before midnight, ie, waiting until 10:30 or 11 might mean a long line. But who knows?

Where's everyone going location wise? I think the Farina show is Howard & 5th, SOD is Brannan & 8th. Cara is going to Public Works, by zg. I'd suggest NOT zg, as much as I love the place, since it's too dependent on weather.

Erika and I are riding BART into SF, so a meet-up place that is walkable from a station would be nice.
