Sweet. I have a lot of Nick Cave and tried to tackle practically his whole discography, but I think it turned into more of a task. I am familiar with more of his 80's releases and Dig, Lazaus, Dig!!! I just wanted to see what the concensus starting point for the band and to perhaps use it as another starting point when I do another Nick Cave binge.

Oh and I remember that thread. Pretty great. Did anyone ever compile the write-ups on a file?

There's actually a singular album called Body Talk that combines most of the previous two volumes with new tracks into a 15-track album. That would be the best way to listen to it I think.

Doesn't Harlem only have one album? Edit: they've got two. Hippies is the one I liked and have heard.

    Thanks.

Harlem formed in Tucson apparently. That's all I really know about them.

I prefer No Wow, but their first two albums are both solid.

Leaves Turn Inside You is their masterpiece, but it also isn't really representative of their work up to that point as it's much more expansive and long-form. For their earlier, more abrasive stuff I'd go with New Plastic Ideas.

Oh that sucks. Buzzo from the Melvins mentioned them alongside Throbbing Gristle in an interview I just read, that's why I asked.

Maybe I'm giving them too little credit or am not just that familiar with their catalog. They're definitely nowhere on par with TG.
