Is it just me, or does ATP UK completely own ATP New York in terms of line-up?

Not trying to knock ATP NY... just sayin.

Well, one (UK) is older and very established. It's also a lot easier to book a show in your backyard than on another continent.

But to answer your question, so far, yes. ATP NY is still far and above better than most US festivals, so it's not too terrible.

I think this hugely depends on the curator. The two in dec are complete opposites. One is full of obscure shit that I am mostly not familiar with (Godspeed) whilst the other just has bands that are your usual festival fodder (belle and sebastiyawn).

I'd like to believe that Portishead's eventual US tour won't just be festivals, but that would take a faith in them that I don't have. Regardless, I will be attending as many of their shows as is possible.

Yeah. The Godspeed up lineup is my favorite since Autechre. While Bowlie 2 is probably the worst I can remember seeing...

I would imagine a stop in LA is pretty much a given stop for anyone that's touring the states and I would imagine they will do a solo show. I don't remember any major festivals that would book Portishead going on in Setpember/October in the southern california area. Portishead on Halloween would be pretty fuckin sweet if you ask me though.

Still hoping for the Palladium. It would be too hard to get close seats at the Bowl.

haha, they did do an essential mix back in the day.

I could do a Bowl show, would prefer an indoor venue, but I will take whatever I can get.
