So now with these additions, I'm kinda excited for what Portishead has in mind for ATP NJ.......I mean with Liars, Swans, Godspeed, Grinderman, PJ Harvery and etc, it's already better than what Coachella has this year. I hate not being overseas sometimes during summer....

Today ATP are very pleased to announce the addition of two stunning new performances to the Sunday 24th line-up: the legendary Godspeed You! Black Emperor who only recently reformed for a string of rapturously received sold out shows, and also a special collaboration between graphic novelist Alan Moore (Watchmen, From Hell) and musician Stephen O'Malley (Sunn O))), KTL) who will respectively provide text and guitar for an expanded soundtracking of Harry Smith's 1962 animated alchemical film "Heaven & Earth Magic".

We are also pleased to confirm the first of the films that will be screened in the cinema at the event. Heading the list we are excited to present the acclaimed Submarine which will be introduced by writer/director Richard Ayoade (Saturday 23rd) and we are also thrilled to invite Mark Cousins who will introduce his documentary feature The First Movie (Sunday 24th). Other films confirmed include The Treasures of Long Gone John and three films by John Minton - Field, Jock Scott and September, with a full schedule and more films to be confirmed shortly.

    Upcoming shows
    6/17 Avey Tare'S Slasher Flicks/Co La @ Glasslands
    6/18 Jim James/the Roots @ Prospect Park
    6/20 Rancid @ T5
6/21 the Rolling Stones @ Wells Fargo Center
6/23 Femi Kuti & The Positive Force @ Summerstage

I am terrified of Sunday conflicts. I just know either Godspeed, Caribou or Liars will conflict with Portishead.

They changed up the set times a bit. Caribou play at 11:20 instead of 11:00 now... which is pretty sweet. Now I wont have to leave Portishead 15 minutes early on Night 2 to get a good spot for Caribou. I am really excited for this. I have heard a lot about how great ATP festivals are, and now I finally get to experience one.

Yesterday was pretty good, musicwise - but the organisation was fucking terrible. Random one way systems, huge queues for toilets and food (for the stalls that hadn't closed early because they had none left). Luckily you could leave the venue, as it was your only real choice for grabbing a snack without losing an hour of your day.

Thought Forms, a late addition, were my set of the day - closely followed by Company Flow and Factory Floor. Portishead were pretty damn excellent too. Nice to see Beth chill out a bit - running around the pit and high fiving everyone at the rail.

I'm going to go see the first 15 minutes of Moore & O'Malley, then gonna head over to get a good spot for Grinderman. I'll let you know how it is.

Also, Portishead were amazing last night. Far and beyond the best act of the day. Lots of good acts though. It has a cool vibe as well... but yesterday wasn't organized very well. There was kind of a one way flow you had to follow and it takes and unnecessarily long time to get from room to room. Hopefully they fix that up today.

All in all though, yesterday was a fun day and I enjoyed myself quite a bit. Today was the day I was looking forward to the most, so I am pretty stoked.

    EDIT: Haha, what Chris said.

No big crossover last year as the 2 fests were 2 months apart.
