I know there's a general dislike of Ed Banger on here, but this is a great video.
Vampire Weekend (4/18) ~ Sigur Ros (4/19) ~ Old Crow Medicine Show (4/28) ~ Rolling Stones (5/2) ~ Born Ruffians (5/6) ~ Yo La Tengo (5/9) ~ Rhye (5/10) ~ Baths (6/28) ~ Latitude Music Festival (7/21) ~ End of the Road Festival (8/30 - 9/1)
Born Free suffers from the really obnoxiously preachy tone of it's Duplo Lego politics and it's student film soapboxing. It's technically good though, and it does neatly reflect everything about MIA that annoys the crap out of me.

I think its a dumb video from a dumb artist

This is technically a commercial for Target, but it's directed by Legs, has music by N.A.S.A. (meh, whatever) and features the work of Daft Punk's lighting designer. I think it lives up to its name. Filmed live on location at The Standard Hotel in NY:
Stunning real time light projections here, not cgi!! (Also, Kylie looks amazing. CGI?)
Simple, but sometimes you don't need to get in the way of a vocal this strong:
Goth aerobics, vampire jazzercise babes circa '81, lasers. Need I say more?
Kid-on-kid violence:
I don't think there's any denying that the standard music video is a dying art. I mean, TV doesn't really show them any more, and unless you do something really awesome with it that sends it viral like OK Go, it's just going to be another video on youtube.
I can't remember who it was, but I remember hearing some label person stressing how vociferously they'd advise new acts not to bother wasting money on one. Only really seems worthwhile to do one once you're established enough that your name will attract people's attention, which is kind of funny, I mean that's the opposite to how it used to work.
Speaking of Rube Goldberg machines though, I do think it's only fair to mention www.thewildernessdowntown.com. Looks like the way things are going.

No doubt Runaway should be considered one of the best of 2010.
From what i hear at werk, the upcoming Beastie Boys video is going to be one of the funniest ones they ever made. It might make a debut before 2010 is over.
