Since everything I own broke on me in the last week, I'm forced to download and burn CDs all over again if I want to listen to music in the car, so this is getting heavy rotation right now. Some sublime moments:

Haha, because "Happy House" just wasn't funky enough. Although I get what he means 2 seconds into this track. It's more straightforward, jacking house and less indie, poppy house. Both are good.

The "Dub" and "Dub of Dub" remixes of "Can't Let Go" are pretty interesting; quite different from the original, as well as from one another.

Yeah, exactly. That reminds me...I need to order the "Happy House" 12".

It is a pretty great 12". I just ordered one plus a Planningtorock 9" from the DFA store. There is a ton of stuff I need to buy there.

Sexy synth mastermind Juan Maclean is back with a brand new, digital only, album this Fall. DFA Records will release Everybody Get Close November 6th, a compilation of previous work and remixes. Of the eleven tracks, five of them are from the previously tour only Find a Way EP, but included in the new material is the title track “Everybody Get Close.” It’s a return to some of Maclean’s earlier roots, drenched in vocoded vocals and trippy synthesizers. Cut Copy also lend a hand with their remix of Maclean’s incredible track “Happy House,” previously released on a digital version of the 12″. Maclean and now fulltime band member Nancy Whang are at work on a completely new album as well, and along with Everybody Get Close and Maclean’s side project Peach Melba, it’s been a busy year for the disco house revivalist. Have any of you listened to Peach Melba? Excepting the Benoit & Sergio release on DFA, I haven't really thought too much about the latest DFA releases. I've actually never listened to anything produced by Juan...only his DJ-Kicks.
