Man I should have listened to you and saw Move D at off-Sonar.
Move D is ace.
5/25-5/27: MOVEMENT DETROIT
6/6: The Field @ The Independent
6/26: Colin Stetson @ The Chapel
Seriously! Straight up sauna status, but yeah everyone on the dancefloor was really going for it,
The whoever it was that played after move d played one of my favorite Moodymann tracks and everyone just went nuts,
it's great how many chill people you meet on the dancefloor compared to the cliqueish clubs you find most of the time in America, I met some people that took my to Sisyphos. Never been there before but it was epic.
I feel pretty lucky here in SF that most of the venues I go to are not clique-y at all, but I'm so envious of ^^^ that sort of ^^^^ venue that can go on until the wee hours of the morning with incredible bookings and that type of crowd. Of the late night venues I've been to outside of the US, only a couple have had really good crowds... the rest, ... awful people that nearly ruin the night. Going to try to make it back to Berlin next summer.![]()
So long as we're on the topic of Move D, here's a track he's been caning lately:
When was the last time Moufang played in the states?
Have good reason to believe he'll be here in the fall.
Coachella 07 (the introduction), 08 (the bands), 09 (the documentary), 10 (the people i came with), 11 (the relationship test... we passed), 12 (whatever the weather, Dirty Epic forever), 13 (the year of the troll)
- PEARL JAM WHY YOU HATE COACHELLA? -
Saw Octo Octa a couple of weeks ago. Actually got to grab a beer with him after the show and he took me back to his apartment to give me test pressings of this record. Super nice guy - I brought up the fact that Move D dropped this track in his boiler room set and he got all giddy about it. Would love to see them do a collaboration. His most recent record has some really great tracks, I'm glad that he is getting some recognition.

Also very very jealous of you getting to see Efdemin and Move D hangthedj. Two of my favorites at the moment.
Picked this record up the other day:
Very happy with my purchase. Also the new MCDE is great - John Roberts and Creative Swing Alliance both make excellent contributions. Well worth $25.
Also Justin Carter dropped this track yesterday at the Mister Saturday/Sunday anniversary. Incredible stuff:

has this been posted?
b/w can anyone recommend blogs/sites/labels for good "deep house" that is funky and not corny or boring? I'm going to ~BURNING MAN~ and I want to have some mellower shit for the rare times when full-on raving isn't appropriate
just listen to Lee Burridge all day....

edit:

Can we set up some sort of house track mp3 depository for tracks that are currently owning dance floors?
