    Default Pet Shop Boys

I'm a bit obsessed with them right now. They put out a ton of great records. They should probably play Coachella. Anyone seen them live? I think I read an article about Primavera (or one of those Spanish festivals, which they headlined) and it had some photos of what looks like a pretty sweet live setup.

I saw them in like 06 or 07. It was good. I would be on the pro-pet shop boys-being-at-coachella bus.

I don't know if a band that has sold 100 million records worldwide in their career can be underrated, but I don't hear a whole lot of discussion about them (considering their stature.)

It's probably that it's because they're not nearly as big in the US as the rest of the world and also that I think a lot of people think of them as primarily having a gay following.

That said, i think they're fucking terrific and would love to see them.

That makes sense. Still, dumb. So many wonderful pop songs.

Salah, explain their appeal to the gay community. Besides the fact they use synthesizers and drum machines and recorded with Liza Manelli.

One of their biggest hits is a cover of "Go West."

Yeah. But just because they covered a Village People tune doesn't explain their massive appeal to the gay community. That's just one piece of the puzzle.

I support Pet Shop Boys. I've never seen them live and I would LOVE to mark them off my list.

I saw them on their tour in 2006. They had an impressively elaborate stage setup with lots of moving set pieces and dancers. I imagine that they pare it down for festivals though but I would still enjoy seeing them again.

"It's a Sin" and "Go West" are such fucking good songs.

I have always been meaning to look more into them, but always forget. Thanks for the reminder.

I saw them on their last American tour -twice. Gaytastic!

Since Neil Tennant is gay, I suppose that's why they have a gay following. He's only a year older than me. They have SO MANY great songs, and they would certainly turn the stage at Coachella into a lively party.

I used to listen to the Pet Shop Boys a ton because my dad loved them so much. I just figured they were one of those really huge bands that everyone knew so no one really talked about them, but I guess that's not the case.

Would be a great fit for 2011. I can't believe after all this time I have never seen them. I used to buy their 12" singles in the 80s.

Their live set is awesome. Moving lit cubes, huge dance crew with costumes. It's so fun.

I went looking for their records yesterday and all I found were their 12" singles. I suppose I'll have to buy the CDs to get the albums.

Pet Shop Boys for 2013? According to Wikipedia, they are recording a new album due to come out in Fall 2012.
