Really enjoyed this performance by Tom Waits on the Daily Show
Day After Tomorrow
I wish I could watch it.... :/
I love Tom Waits as an actor but I can't listen to him sing for some reason. Down by Law was a great movie. I dug his boots.
Here is a video of Zero 7 at the Hollywood Bowl that I shot over the summer:
Here is one more of the Flaming Lips at the Bowl that I shot:
The Zero 7 show was wonderful. There were at least 3 instances in which she seemed to be singing only to me (her deep eyes from the monitors).
Whiskey Sour
2 oz blended whiskey
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1/2 tsp powdered sugar
1 cherry
1/2 slice lemon
Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.
Because it's not on the DVD:
Fatbastard, it was wonderful. I thought it was funny how Sia was bartending in the background when she wasn't singing. Her dancing was crazy!
There is something about seeing a show at the Bowl though that makes it better than it probably really is. I can't wait to see what kind of schedule they will have for next summer.
Did you know you can play these videos all at the same time? Cacophony!
Tom, you have to try it in the Coachella only you tube thread. One video has to be Mogwai though, for it to sound right.
Holy crap. This was one of those moments! She did remain in tact throughout that entire set. She could have been smashed off her ass for all I knew.
I agree. There's something about watching a concert at the bowl. It has a certain type of intimacy to it.
I walked out on their last song that night though. I took a cab to see The Cramps down the street that night.
Thanks for posting this and reminding me of that performance.

You're welcome. How were the Cramps?
The video of Muse at Glasto doing Stockholm Syndrome blew my mind when I saw it the first time. That rocked so hard.
They were good. They're old but they still rocked. It was really a best of all of their hits. Sunset Junction always has at least 1 good act each year.

This is a follow up to Andrew's post on the old board; This is Husker Du in San Francisco in '85. Be sure to check out "Louie Louie".
"Diane", "Hate Paper Doll", and "Green Eyes":
"Divide And Conquer", "Pink Turns To Blue", and "Eight Miles High":
"Makes No Sense At All", "Louie, Louie" (featuring Minutemen and Meat Puppets):
The artist currently known as Prince. regarding his superbowl appearance.

She added the phrase "meany head" to my profile.I hardly think I'm an attention whore.
That Prince performance is not to be missed.
The Flaming Lips are having a contest to dance with them onstage at their performance on 12/31:
This is a new video from U2-Window in the Skies. It contains a bunch of edited clips of various bands/artists. I only posted it here because I saw at least three different performances from Coachella in there (bjork, arcade fire).

Bjork, Arcade Fire, White Stripes, Radiohead....gotta love the Nirvana clips too
She's just too hot in this video:
That U2 video is fuckin awesome. I saw Elvis, and then I was thinking (seeing the Elvis pompadour), "Where's Morrissey?" and a few frames later, there was a glasses-wearing, Smiths-era Morrissey. Also saw David Bowie (twice), Beck, Sex Pistols, on and on and on. I didn't listen to the song though.
That's Cat Power shockingly enough.
I saw The Edge in the audience (rocking out) a few times in that U2 video but haven't seen Bono yet. What a fantastic editing job.
every time I watch that U2 video I find someone new. Just found Talking Heads this morning.
edit: THs in there twice.

**can someone PM me how to make the youtube video come up properly in a post? I played around with it but couldn't get it to work...which means that it's really really simple to do...

Hey neon, I'm going to post yours. Put the number/letter sequence in the brackets and it should work for you next time!
Here is a video of the lips at the NYE show:
