We should have gone to set up camp when the gates opened then went to the show because like Zimmy said, the sloping tundra cannot happen. Next year I am definitely down to arrive when camp opens to secure a prime spot in the grass and shade. We will need as many people as possible to meet up and do this cause securing down a large spot for everyone will be tricky without enough people.
i honestly still dont know how im going to handle the camping situation, considering my house is so close.... what would be the benifits....?? how much extra was it to camp...??

could not.
I get what yer sayin, but a campsite has always been really nice at festivals like this. you can always just go take a shower and a dip in the pool anytime if you leave your car in general parking. they didn't care if you left last year, i think.
Wasn't it a pretty long walk from campsite to car?
coming from camping, the stages were off to the right, and the general parking to the left, both about the same distance from camping, which was a decent 10-15 min walk. 20 on the way back up the hill. going from the stages to parking was a really short walk.
I really think if you live close you should still camp and just leave when you're done partying. Andrew and Sophia left one day to do go home. Camping was included in the ticket price and parking is right there. It's so easy to come and go as you please too.
Camping was included in the ticket price. You should camp and just leave when you want to freshen up. Parking was free too, and I believe they had shuttles the entire weekend to and from camping to the parking lot. I would be down to get there early for some grass and shade. There were some prime locations if you got there early last year.
ok now that lookz legit... thank u bleezie for finaly answering the real question. If camping is included then theres no reason to not. If anything, head home saturday night, shower, get some goood sleep and go strong for sunday. how early is early, as far as getting good spotz....? i only went sunday last year, so didnt get too familiar w/ the fest.

How was the searching last year? Curious what I can get away with bringing.
^that spot in the picture probably had around 100 tents (possibly more) in it and was filled up by the morning after the gates opened. probably earlier.
There weren't many other spots like that, I don't think. most people were camped on this:
And there were a lot of them arriving on the first day too.

Looks like my cat's coming along for the party.

Yea those spots were gone by Friday morning. We unfortunately had to pitch our tent on that hard packed dirt on a 30 degree slant...no bueno. They didn't seach at all; for camping or for when you went into the fest. People were walking in with bottles of beer and alcohol and no one said anything lol. I think there were like 3 security guards for the entire fest lol, they were practically non-existent, but there were still the 4-5 Irvine Police that were on the grounds supervising.

I feel you on that. I wasnt big on the music there, but there was so much more to the festival that it really didnt even matter. And ya I still had fun chillin out and dancing.
This is gonna be their second time at this location, I hope to god they dont change shit about it. Chances are they are gonna be stricter on security (though thats not saying much), but I have no doubt its gonna be good.
