Default can we get some Rock & Roll for us old

    Fuckers?

Randy Hansen - would be cool (Hendrix Family approves!)

have a stage honoring those that made festivals exactly what they are.

    like a legends stage.

I heard they where going to add a RocknRoll Fest in between the Coachella and StCoach festival, but have not seen any news on it.

yeah us old fucks still like to hang out, get stoned and mellow out.

would even take a stage with LedZep again - Stoned again - who's who etc...

a woodstock tribute, anything like that...

This post made me think of something my friend emailed me...

well you know people get older and say "all the new music sucks" and you start reminiscing about the old days and you sound like an old codger or something... i don't want to end up like that. i want to know what's going on, but at the same time keep a distance so i don't get involved in the hype.... it's easy to dismiss a trend or new stuff because you're always working with your old imprints, the things that really impressed you as a child or when you were having a good time in your 20s or something...but in order for that to happen you have to be caught up in the moment.

Better yet, pick up the DVDs or Blu-rays of The Complete Monterey Pop Festival, Woodstock, Don't Look Back, and Gimmie Shelter.

There's never any rock at Coachella
And no one is ever doing any kind of roll.

I've been going to Coachella Arts & Music Festival since its inception, and I'm one of those "old farts". Shit, at the very first Coachella, I thought I was probably one of the oldest people there! I didn't care. I've been a rocker ever since I saw The Beatles on The Ed Sullivan Show, and I've never looked back. I love my music; I love rock and roll, and all branches thereof. As the years have past, I've noticed there have been more and more people "my age" attending Coachella. From my perspective, I think that's cool. There's something to be said for a "Baby Boomer" sharing a joint with a '70s "punk" sharing a joint with.......but I digress. I've always had a great time at Cochella, except for this past year (Coachella 2010): way too many fights, the traffic mess was unreal, the Porta-Potties were dirtier than ever. Still, will this "Old Fart" go to Coachella 2011? Hell, ya! And I'd welcome some old school rock bands to help the youngsters get "turned on" to how rock-n-roll/techno/hip-hip/__insert name here__ got to be where is currently is. I'm talkin' bands like The Stones (of course), and Status Quo, and some of those "glitter" acts like Slade, etc. etc. You know, I think the young kids really did get into Paul McCartney. Really, I think they did. I bet they thought, "Paul McCartney, Yeah. Some old scruffy leftover sod" but I saw lots--and I mean LOTS--of young adult "kids" really groovin' to 'Jet' and 'Let Me Roll It'. You could see that, "What the fuck?" look on their collective faces. The same thing happened with Roger Waters, and Rory Erickson, and Iggy. So, yeah. I say, "Bring it on, Paul Tollet!" Let's "educate" these young whippersnappers about rock'n'roll. Let's get a great mix of old school rock (Vanilla Fudge/Status Quo/Grank Funk/Slade) with the best of what's out there now. That's my opinion, and I'm stickin' to it. See ya in 2011.

No, Patrick. Just because you evolved from sperm into a whining toddler, doesn't mean someone decided to invent some noise that would drown you out...

    1.
Run to a nice patch of grass on the fields and lay face down.
    2. Tilt your head ninety degrees with your forehead temple resting on your forearm and watch people through the vision pocket right underneath your armpit hair.
    3. Do this for a few hours until you get comfortable.

A Daft Punk thread containing 'nothing of substance'. How bout that.

I don't want to see Slade or Grand Funk or Status Quo at Coachella.
