Me and some die hard rage buds of mine are stoked about this concert and need to know the nearest airport to indio ... from what ive seen so far palm springs would be the easiest to fly into and drive in ...is that right?

Easiest and closest, yes. Cheapest, no. Try LAX or Ontario. Both require a 1-2hour drive, but should be cheaper than Palm Springs.

lax is the cheapest to fly into but driving from lax to indio will take some patience depending on what time you fly in. ontario is 70 miles CLOSER than lax so its an easier drive and if you book your flights now, it wont be that much more than flying into lax. the airport code for ontario airport is ONT. also, a rental car is pretty much the only option to get to indio, that i know of.

How long is Palm Springs from Indio? 20 miles? I'm going from Houston also, i think i'll have to book a flying now.

Any websites where to find cheap flights?

you can always try flying into Phoenix? We did that last year the drive is a bit further but the arrival times worked a lot better for us and it was a lot cheaper then Palm Springs. Oh and everyone drives west not east so traffic was a breeze the next day!

fly into Ontario and rent a car. drive is over an hour, but good luck driving from LAX. Los Angeles traffic is god mother fucking awful.

a roundtrip greyhound ticket from (and back to) LA would be extremely cheap. less than fifty dollars. maybe even less than 30 or 40. much better than driving.

i'm flying in from houston to lax to meet up with some friends, and then we're getting a rental and driving down to indio. i believe it took us three hours last year to get there from LA with traffic. the plane ticket to lax is 198 right now, as opposed to 250 to Ontario or 400(!!) dollars to fly straight to palm springs. your call.

Yeah, its a good option. Although if I keep finding no hotels as until now, i think ill rent a car and sleep in there. Maybe flying to Ontario would be ok, ticket is 50 dollars more than LAX, but i;d spend them in gas anyway

It seems Ill see many faces in Houston airport going to CA

our crew has come from Houston twice ('04 & '05 - skipped the madonna business last year). The first year we flew into Ontario and made the drive in. Never again - I-10 is worse out there than it is here. Took almost 3 hours to get to Palm Desert. in '05 we flew into Palm Springs and are going that route again. Continental has nonstops on friday (gets in at 11 - plenty of time to get to the grounds) and out monday at noon. the worst thing about ontario was the drive BACK. hungover and dehydrated after 2 days in the desert makes for a craptastic road trip on a monday morning; and this year will be 3 days. easily worth the price difference, plus figure in the gas for 200+ miles at $3 a gallon and it is maybe $50 to save a lot of headaches.

I am probably going to fly into ONT from SLC the morning of the 27th at 9:30 AM. Mapquest estimates 1 hr 30 min drive to Empire Polo field. Is that correct, considering what time I will be driving (about 9:45 - 10:00 AM)

Yeah, it seems the best option. Same here, 11am at Houston on 27th, 12pm at Palm Springs on 30th. Are you renting a car in Palm Springs? camping?

we are renting a car at palm springs. for the nights, we are staying at the fantasy springs casino in indio. the night life in the area seems to rather suck, and we had been really bored on fridays in the past, so we thought being at a casino would be a good way to spend the first night. now that the concert is starting on friday, i wish we had booked somwhere else, but the rates everywhere have gone up a lot, so i think we are stuck.
