KROQ Almost Acoustic XMas Speculation 2010

A few alt-rock stations nationwide already revealed their December radio festival lineups (Portland 94/7, Tampa Bay 97X). Let the speculation begin for KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas:

Someone posted the following on the wikipedia:

December 11 - 12, 2010
Night 1 (Saturday): Jimmy Eat World, The Dirty Heads, Neon Trees, Phoenix, Brandon Flowers, The Black Keys
Night 2 (Sunday): Avenged Sevenfold, My Chemical Romance, A Day To Remember, Anberlin, Switchfoot, Bad Religion, The Black Pacific

Most of the bands above make sense though I would add Cake (Portland 12/10), The Temper Trap (Portland 12/6), Cage the Elephant (Tampa Bay 12/5) as near-locks.

My guesses would be:

Night 1:
Smashing Pumpkins (headliner), My Chemical Romance, Jimmy Eat World, Bad Religion, A Day to Remember, The Dirty Heads, Switchfoot, Anberlin, Carolina Liar

Night 2:
Phoenix (headliner), Cake, Interpol, Brandon Flowers, The Temper Trap, Florence + the Machine, Cage the Elephant, Neon Trees, The Black Keys

Yeah, Interpol wouldn't be a surprise. I don't know about Phoenix though, weren't they there last year?

They would definitely headline if they did, which they probably won't. But one can pray... I know they said this is their last tour for a while, but i'm just not ready to accept that.

yeah glad i caught them at san diego state after sleeping on the hollywood bowl show. really regret not making their show at the greek last september

Not that this is real, but this is why KROQ line-ups are BS, no way The Black Keys would be last name listed. And if they did play you know thats exactly where they would be.

Given Black Keys have sold out virtually every date this fall/winter they would be selling themselves short with a low billing. They are not headliners for KROQ-but given it is KROQ they will probably be in below Avenged Sevenfold.

In past Acoustic Christmases: Vampire Weekend, She Wants Revenge, Paramore, and My Chemical Romance were first band openers for Acoustic Christmas despite having even more massive popularity at the time.

But yeah most if on same bill, Neon Trees could probably be the first opener and Florence + the Machine could maybe slip down to second opener. But I don't see The Black Keys being slotted to play after Cage the Elephant (if they're there), who seems to be on the path to be KROQ's next Rise Against by being at every KROQ show and having "Ain't No Rest for the Wicked" being a permanent song on KROQ's playlist for the past 2 years.

standard indie radio - day (White Rabbits/Vampire Weekend)

I'd be all about Soundgarden and Bush on the bill this year. I wouldn't be surprised if one or both bands were there.
