They were fucking amazing tonight. Shea Stadium is a sweet venue and Titus brought down the place. Almost a two hour set, Patrick claimed it was their longest set list of all time. If the rest of the tour is going to be anything like this, I strongly urge even the most casual of fans to check it out, you won't be disappointed.
Sounds awesome! Any word on a setlist?

Hi Bryan...
Bagged whiskey will be drank.
Haha, no worries, worth checking. I'm going to buy my ticket when I'm sure I have the day off. I will likely take you up on staying there though, I'll be there for 3 days in a row with the Afghan Whigs shows. A friend is going to those and I'm staying with him at his brothers after those, but he is probably coming up friday. Figuring everything out tomorrow. I'll let you know.

So I finally got around to "Local Business" and love it. Ecce Homo is a great opener. I can guess that this will likely be at the top of my end of year list.
Titus Andronicus tonight was the best rock set I have seen in years. In years. They are like 10x better live now than they were at Coachella. 'Tight' doesn't even begin to describe it. Explosive is better but still doesn't feel right.
I need to think on this some more before I say something about the Who or the Clash or something. But that's where my mind is.
^That is exactly how I felt after I saw them a couple weeks ago.
Damn. Maybe it's time to go see them again? I haven't seen them since The Airing of Grievances tour....
This morning, I was reading Village Voice and there was a nice article about them...
http://www.villagevoice.com/2012-10-...tive-thinking/Conflict is the driving idea behind all good drama and all good Titus Andronicus songs, and on a fundamental level, every Titus Andronicus song and album is about Patrick Stickles versus Patrick Stickles. He was on Ritalin as a child and became depressed during college: "Just being really pessimistic and not being really sociable at all. I didn't really have very many friends. Just really . . . and no desire to make friends." He currently takes Wellbutrin and Abilify for "depression and mania," and one of his best songs, "No Future Part Three: Escape From No Future," chronicles his struggles to become comfortable with taking antidepressants. "When I was first taking them, it made me question the authenticity of my feelings. Are my feelings more than just chemical reactions? I ultimately decided that they weren't."
ps Interview with Titus....
