This is slowly creeping into my most-anticipated shows of the year. Ridiculous, considering it'll be my 9th Deerhunter show.
Rolling Stone needs to do stick with what they do best, i.e. sucking off U2 and Bruce Springsteen.

"Is there anyone who wants to see the sun go down?" asks singer Brandon Cox in "Memory Boy."![]()

Almost a week away, fucking stoked.
I peaked at the latest setlists, and Fluorescent Grey is making a comeback.
*based upon tedious fact checking.
I've seen them like 8 times, now, and I've still never heard them play it.

ruined it.
i've seen 'em play it once. that's great news.
"Fluorescent Grey" is my favorite Deerhunter song and they closed with it last night. They reworked it so it was kind of slow and creepy and amazing. When they break into the noisy part it was the greatest catharsis. Really fucking great show over all. Mostly stuff from the new one and Microcastle. Bradford is the oddest frontman but I think it's great that he gets to be a rock star. The new stuff sounded considerably less sleepy live and is very good. If you're a fan, get thee to your local show when they come through.
Flourescent Grey was on the setlist for Toronto but they played "Wash Off" instead.
Is anyone here going to the show on saturday? havent gotten my ticket yet, i kinda dont wanna be totally solo

I guess it's possible. I'm potentially going to Napa that day with the folks (if I finish writing my paper) but just for the day, so I might make it back to the bay in time to see that. I just REALLY want to catch Real Estate, since I've already got my Deerhunter ticket for LA.
Edit: I'll probably do whatever Drew does here.
last i checked there were still tix but that was last week. so no spookyfest for you then?

So... saw Deerhunter last night.
Have they been covering "30 Century Man" lately? Because it totally surprised me and I loved it, and I got the whole thing on video. will post soon.
