So with ATP and now the Austin Psych Fest, at least we know Deerhunter will be playing shows in 2013! I'd be very surprised if those were the only ones.

Yay! I was really hoping they'd be at Coachella this year but I'm sure they'll come by in the summer/fall.

May 7? Wow, much earlier than I thought, what with them having been in the studio very recently. Fuck yeah.

So are they going to be four for five with this one as another fantastic, incredible album?

The first album is a dud. Most people don't even know it exists, and for good reason. Adorno is a killer track, but other than that it's underdeveloped and not well played. The best part is probably the album title, Turn It Up ******.

It's definitely not up to par with the rest of their work, but I've actually found a lot to like about TIUF.

    Very Nuggets-y, I dig it.

The Fallon performance was appropriately batshit.

Noisy as hell, but in a different way than the early stuff. I like it, but, as with the first singles off the past two albums, it didn't floor me right away. Deerhunter always get me more on album than they do with individual songs.

But thank god they've got a new one coming. I love this band so so much.

I really hope that they use this noise and graft it to something like Octet. That might become the perfect song.

That would be awesome, but I have my doubts since I'm pretty sure Josh wrote Octet. RIP
