It's decent. None of it's been boring, but I've yet to be wowed by any tracks yet. He already put out one Lotus Plaza album, and he just put out a split 12" with his fiancee.

Depends. I've seen him do a full band, I've seen him do acoustic sets, I've seen him do sets where it's him and a laptop, and the best time was him, a sampler, a laptop and an electric guitar.

I REALLY hope it's not a full band, although it wouldn't surprise me with how full band-y the new album is. But yeah, hopefully the setup he had for Moog Fest is what he brings. Seeing him on Friday, and I can't fucking wait.

So, I know Atlas Sound is doing a small tour currently... but do we have any news regarding Deerhunter? New album? Are they on hiatus?

Bradford Cox did an interview with Pitchfork last November and he said he's already began the writing process for the new Deerhunter album.


Also, not long ago, Lotus Plaza covered Cut Copy's "Where I'm Going" which I thought was really great.

He did Pitchfork with that laptop set up and it blew the band set outta the water. To be fair, the LA band set was pretty half-baked. They wandered quite a bit without ever having anything click in. Brad looked pretty bored with the whole affair.

Electric Flower and Seventeen Evergreen and Carnivores and Frank Broyles

Didn't get there in time for Frank Broyles but NMH gave him a good review, saw Carnivores and they were pretty good. Nothing I'd skip out on a nice dinner beforehand for, though.

Carnivores were pretty great. I don't remember them at all though, because Brad was so incredibly on point. Reminded me of Neil Young circa Time Fades Away. Highest compliment I know.

It in hindsight was awesome, in the moment it was not so much. I went to see the music not some asshole request a stupid song knowing Bradford would get pissed and do something crazy. Looking back now I can laugh, at the time it felt forced, there was honestly a couple times I wondered if the guy was planted there.

There were moments during this that my friends and I were like...okay, this feels forced. It was cool for a bit, but I would have rather had the 3-4 extra songs. The set, to that point, was fucking marvellous.
