Pure Filth Stage added for 11?

"NEWSFLASH - THIS JUST IN...I just returned from the Golden Voice/AEG production offices...a new stage is to be added to the Coachella Line-up this year...
THE PURE FILTH STAGE...Can You say BASS IN YOUR FACE CALIFORNIA!!!"

Pure Filth is run by a guy that also used to run a drum & bass collective. This could be promising for a number of reasons. Also, the first time I saw Flying Lotus live, it was at a Pure Filth warehouse party several years ago.

i dont mind it either but id rather hear some good dubstep and drum and bass. do labs stage was dope this year, sprayers were awesome too. not a huge fan of the glitch music however

Hopefully this means that the whole event will be spread over more of the polo field site rather the traditional amount of space that the event usually occupies. This would mean, no bleed over and more space for more people to roam around in.

After Neon Marshmallow, I was kind of thinking how cool it would be if they added a stage for smaller experimental/noise/drone/synth acts. An entire stage (no matter how small) for one collective seems a bit much. Diversify that shit.

i agree with both of these comments. at first i missed the tessla coil this year, but with the number of people, any grass space was appreciated. i think the do lab is great, but i hate the bleed. hopefully they can find a place for this stage that won't bleed.

i just hope the stage is diverse. i can't imagine a stage inside the festival that is purely devoted to dubstep. if the throw some good dnb, hip-hop and other genres, that would be cool though.

i just hope that doesn't mean that the sahara is going to become cheesy trance nation or something. they already seem to be pulling the better electronic oriented acts out of the sahara already (kraftwerk, reprazent).

i'm interested to see how this will turn out though and glad to see they're trying something new!

people seem to forget pure filth had a stage inside the fest in 09..and it was exactly the same as what we got in the campground last year..with ins & outs it makes more sense to put this back where the dome was....but with a better stage this time (like do lab this year)

Get ready for your hopes of hearing some DnB/other genres to get smashed to oblivion by never ending onslaught that is Dub-step, because it is the cool thing to like now days.
