well no shit. but they are pushing the boundaries of reason a little in my opinion.

michael pitt is 29 and gretchen mol is 37 and she looks even younger.

as far as i can infer jimmy is supposed to be about 22 or 23, i have no idea how old she is supposed to be, but i would say 35 is the absolute oldest that character could be. i mean now i see that SPOILER ALERT they picked a younger looking woman so that it was conceivable lucky could confuse her for jimmys wife...but i dont know man. it seems a little ridiculous to me.

When I saw Jimmy jump into his mom's arms a few episodes ago I thought "oh shit, Jimmy's got some ass on the side." They were even acting like lovers it seemed to me. Not to mention his mom is a hot cabaret dancer in the show.

i strongly believe this is the case. he is very protective of jimmys mom and i cant really fathom any other reason jimmy wouldnt be dead for what he did.

not to mention buscemi's character is based on a guy who was suppose to be 6-foot-1 250 pounds

well i read that they wrote the character specifically with buscemi in mind because he is as far as you can get from tony soprano as possible.

i imagined that was reason, since comparisons might have drawn between the two especially since they air on hbo. for the record, i like buscemi in the role.

I've thought this as well. I guess it will remain to be seen. Either that or Jimmys dad sacrificed himself for Nucky or something like that where he is forever indebted to him.

What about Al though? He feels like Jimmy is getting all the credit for making those moves in greek town but it was his idea. Seems like Al is jealous of Jimmy. I see trouble on the horizon.

They film the exterior boardwalk scenes in my neighborhood. There's a huge blue screen on the opposite side of stacks of shipping crates on Commercial Street. The below shitty BlackBerry shot has the blue screen and a few blurry lamp posts along the boardwalk.

I'd have had to step over broken bottles and dogshit to get closer to the fence, and I didn't think it was worth the effort with my phone. Next time I walk down that way I'll bring a camera.

I was surprised to learn the set was outdoors, as it can be pretty noisy in the city. But it looks pretty cool, especially with the Manhattan skyline just across the river.

Once my girlfriend and I are done with The Wire, we're gonna start in on this show.

i definitely foresee problems in that regard. i was really glad that al's character was developed beyond just volatile gangster dude in the scene with the steaks. i think that he is getting really attached to jimmy, allowing himself to be vulnerable and such, so the fall out should be most excellent

i thought they did a great job with the first season.

i really like how they work in all this historical stuff into the periphery. like the thing with the klan, and ponzi, and fixing the world series.

the writing is really great too. there have been so many excellent lines.

    i'm excited for season 2.

This season when she revealed to Jimmy's wife that she used to "kiss he wee wee", she turned into one of the more interested characters of this season. She's sick in the head a little bit, and she's a Queen among manipulators. Her scene with the commodore at the end the episode 4 was kind of hilarious, and showed she has a lot of demons she hides behind her seductress mask.

Best episode of the series. This show is hands down the greatest thing on television right now.

I'm so glad Nucky didn't forgive his brother but it's going to be kind of sad to see him fall as he can't seem to do anything for himself.

Jimmy seems like he'll be ok without Nucky considering he is probably going to pull a Michael Corleone and kill all of the older dudes.

Those old dudes are the ones with the money. Unless they smack him with a cane I'd bet they're pretty safe.

The direction across the whole episode was incredible, but nowhere better than with Richard in the woods. The shots closing tighter and tighter as he preps for his finish was brilliant. Richard's performance was incredible. Going from resolute about his death to wavering, to rock bottom, to reassured, back to bad ass all in one episode.

Richard and Jimmy's is the ONLY relationship in the entire show that I would be completely confident in.

Last night's episode was great, but it should be noted that the last three episodes have been particularlly good.

Does anyone else on here follow the A/V Club's reviews of each episode?
