10 year anniversary is going to inevitably invoke high expectations. Especially after what was considered a relatively down year in terms of headliners.
I really think MBV will be there, they're not doing anything U.S. this year, Coachella is early (as in for a one-off and play some U.S. dates later...maybe) and you know Paul T has been begging for years. I don't trust that crazy motherfucker Kevin Shields at all, but I really think they're the likely headliner next year.
Muse
Daft Punk or Massive Attack
Prince
are my predictions for headliners. I wouldn't be surprised if The Prodigy, Madness and My Bloody Valentine were there next year too. To me, that line up right there would already kick an amazing amount of ass. I do think they are going to do something special for the 10th aniversary, but nothing like any of you guys are talking about.
Well, if you think MBV, Muse and The Prodigy are reasonable, those are 3 of the 4 I put up there. Arcade Fire if the album is ready '09, though it might not be til '10. Prince is likely too; if the hip surgery thing wasn't clouding things, I think he'd be there this year. I could definitely see Daft Punk or Massive Attack being there, too (and maybe Royksopp).
I think the unreasonable ones are The Smiths, Zep, Boards of Canada, and probably Talking Heads (but I still have hope for them, who, btw, I'd see over Prince 100 times out of 100).
They have played ZERO shows, to my knowledge, in like 7 years, and maybe only a few ever, but I'm not 100% on that.
Let's start the Lemon Jelly campaign for 2009. Make it happen GV.

Saturday Headliner>>>> Pearl Jam
Sunday Headliner>>>>>> The Smiths
oh my fuck would I ever love to see the Avalanches there next year. They HAVE to be there next year. Their new CD is aparently coming out this year. FINALLY. I had a small amount of hope in me they would actually be there this year. But I sure wasn't surprised when they weren't on the line up. But that is pretty damn funny we basically predicted the same headliners.
Avalanches for Coachella 2009!
Friday Headliner>>> Jack Johnson
Saturday Headliner>>>> G Love and Special Sauce

Wanted:
1. Nachos
2. Puppies
first time through I read that as "will bring back foreigner"
Nitzer Ebb should have their new album done sometime this year and should play at Coachella next year. I have been wishing for them to play at Coachella since 2004.
I love music, and I hate vowels.
Now that Prince is playing 2008...wow. Yeah, way to raise the bar. Okay, then...
Thursday: Dave Chappelle (special campsite performance)
Friday: Neil Young, Arcade Fire, Sigur Ros, The Prodigy
Saturday: Daft Punk, Pavement, The Postal Service, The Knife
Sunday: David Bowie, Pulp, A Tribe Called Quest, The Orb
And Asobi Seksu, of course.
If David Bowie refuses yet again, how about Paul McCartney?
Bjork would be a must add!
