I'm doing the same, coincidentally enough. It's good, but my first thought was that a lot of the songs in the middle of the album don't seem like they'd be very captivating live.

13th Step was my first APC record and I wore it out. I had never heard any APC until I saw them live at Long Beach Arena on their second tour. Vanishing (opener) really struck me hard as did the rest of the show. A friend gave me 13th Step immediately afterwards. I crushed that disk. When I finally got to Mer de Noms, it was almost a re-set of how I felt about the band. eMotive took that to an even further extreme. I love all of them. I really want to see the Rose, Sleeping Beauty, Thinking Of You, the Outsider, Vanishing, Imagine and Freedom of Choice live.

I've seen them 3 times in Alberta, and for whatever reason they were always touring Mer de Noms. The last time was right before Thirteenth Step came out, but I didn't know any of the songs yet. In retrospect, its my favorite album by them, so I'd kill to see a Thirteenth Step show. Hope they tour some more after these dates.

You know- flying out to LA is not all that expensive guys. Hell, I can even give you some pointers on where to stay. I know wallets are tight and all, but don't listen to asshats who think you are too 'fanboi' for traveling to see a band you love. Geez, even my wife gives me a bit o that. Ignore it. Some of the very best experiences you can have are seeing great concerts in strange cities.

I'm really excited for Crimes, actually. This will be the first time it has ever been played live. And the only song never to be played live, if I am not mistaken. Since it's only 2 minutes long, an extended version would be fantastic and would help fill some time that people think needs to be filled.

I think flying out to see a band you love (if you can do it) is great. There is always so much anticipation and positive energy when you go to a different city and see your favorite band.

I'm almost thankful the Faith No More show is on a Tuesday. That's a school night and a weeknight and that was the one rule I made. I'm at least keeping my priorities straigh and I was lucky enough to see them 3 times this year as well.
