Yes, it is not a free festival anymore, but I like it better this way. Now that it has a cover charge, you keep out all of the people that would otherwise be coming just to see some free music, but have no interest in the actual bands that they don't know and don't care about. It will be a smaller crowd, and a better crowd. I can't wait.

I could see someone saying that if they really did not like dub/experimental/electronic music. But this lineup is just insane. Makes last year's look terrible. There's going to be no time to see everything I want to see.

i do like it, just not familiar with many of the names. if i was though, i'm sure this lineup would look a lot better from what you guys are saying.

yup, the event organizer told me. he played on cosmogramma and is also playing at the fest, he is the bassist for blank blue! don't sleep tomorrow will be dope!

what bands on this bill do people recommend seeing?

There are a lot of good ones. You can basically sit at Low End Theory Stage or Dublab stage and have a blast. But those stages are more geared towards electronica. If you're talking about rock and other genres, here's a few that should be solid:

Those are the acts that pretty much stick out. I am sure there is more I am missing, but that's the beauty of music festivals, there's bound to be hidden gems sprinkled through out.

Hell yea! This should be my last show/festivsal/event I go to in LA for a while, so it's perfect ... everything I love about LA rolled into one free street festival. I haven't seen FlyLo since his astounding Coachella set and in the meantime his new one has grown to be one of my favorites of the whole year. I can only hope the sound quality at the outdoor stages is sufficient for all these great sets!

I'm getting pretty excited for this... Little scared at how big the crowd may get for Flying Lotus but whatever it'll still be amazing. I can't believe this is free too... I'll definately donate to keep this fest alive since it's something chill to do to kick off the fall season and it's pretty close to my girlfriends house.

Also going to be hitting up taco spot tonight haha...
