You arent british, they do things a little differently over there, like make Kings of Leon a stadium act, when they only play arenas here. And has anyone that has gone thought it was all about the headliners? Theres people who pay the money and dont even see one act all weekend, do they need their head checked? Probably not, they know what they are going for, and you shouldnt rely on the headliners to make you feel confident in making the investment.
Lick an orange, it tastes like an orange. Lick a pineapple, it tastes like a pineapple. Go ahead, try it. Try some more. The strawberries taste like strawberries. The snozzberries taste like snozzberries! We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams. Come along, come along.
Just registered, planning on putting the deposit down when they go on sale. Now the big question is if I could actually afford to do this. Been saving for a while now for this, but unfortunately a lot of that had to be dumped into car trouble. If not this year then definitely 2013 when it returns.
Registration was quick and painless. What won't be painless is reserving my ticket when they go up on October 3 at what will be 4a.m local time for me. Shit, I'm never up at 4a.m. anymore.
people buying tickets "just in case". as if it wasn't hard enough to get tickets already.
as I understand it, it always sells out the day it goes on sale.
Oh, there's a remote chance I'll go.
It is definitely lineup dependent, and also life-dependent.
But I know how I can be better prepared next time, and have yet an even more amazing experience.
Especially if Sasha plays again.

I tried registering but my photo got rejected. Only reason I can think of is that my picture was "landscape" style instead of "portrait". God, what b.s.
if you were them, would you want to be cropping hundreds of thousands of photos?
Well, whatever...I'm not gonna let something like this crush my Glastonbury dream. I'll submit a dozen times if I have to.
they're taking 2012 off, partly to give the land/community a break, and because it's the same year as the olympics.
I'm not going to register anymore. I am committed to Bestival next year.
oh. At Bestival last weekend, Juan talked to a girl who said that Glasto was taking 4 years off so they could get Bowie. JESUS CHRIST Where was I? I would have loved to laugh in her face.
Sad panda. But what about...
If this (or Pulp or Bowie) isn't the case, then I'll probably end up elsewhere to try something new.
I think Coachella would be more likely than Glastonbury (not that the words Bowie and likely ever belong in the same sentence) because he's already done the epic greatest hits set at Glasto. That year also featured more gatecrashers than cromulent attendees, too.
But Gorillaz and Stevie Wonder wouldn't produce a 100K sell-out on any other basis. Glastonbury is a bit more unique, certainly my brother never see's one single act on the Pyramid Stage or The Other Stage, but is fully occupied all weekend.
Please see the entire list of stages-all 45 of them:

The headliners don't matter so much, it is the rest of the festival that makes it unique.
bowie is never playing anywhere again. seriously people, give it up.

It seems we've forgotten about this:

So "bands" doesn't necessarily mean bands.
Bowie's reputation on the boards is kind of silly. People here act like he hasn't toured in 30 years. Where were you guys in 2004?

This page is cool. It tells you what songs were played on that tour and how many different times. I'm not one of the people who is dying to see Bowie. If he ends up at a festival, i'll be watching but he isn't the be all end all in my book. I feel the same way about Radiohead and both of these are mortal sins.

My brother took me to David Bowie for my thirteenth birthday. It's a concert that I've certainly mythologized in my mind, although back then I was nowhere near the level of fandom I am now. I can't fathom how I would react to seeing David Bowie play that set now.
