    Default Another beer garden question

I went to the Independence Jam in Oceanside last night, which was all-ages, and you could buy a beer and just wander around anywhere with it. There were no beer gardens. Like Coachella, they checked ID, gave you a wrist band, and that's it. I'm wondering why Coachella doesn't do the same thing. I'm thinking maybe they're just being careful or something since it's a much larger event. Does anyone know why they can't or won't do this at Coachella?

    Oceanside is not Indio.

Wait...how does it make any sense to even begin to compare an event that takes place in a 2700-person capacity amphitheater with an even like Coachella? What the hell is going on here?

I once flew in an airplane, ordered a cocktail and they didn't even check my ID. I wonder why they check ID when you're on the ground. sheesh

The FAs are supposed to check your ID. You must just be real old looking.

    Neither have I.

Also, on my way from Oakland to Seattle two weeks ago they were totally letting me double fist beers and that made me happy.

I had my ID checked on a plane a couple times recently. But all those flights when I was 13-18 and flying alone? Nope.

Maybe policy has changed in the past year or two, or they have become more diligent about enforcing it.

I flew to Las Vegas one Friday after work and had the flight attendants rolling the little bottles of booze down the isle to us. It was awesome.

We got busted for overserving after a flight in NM; a passenger had too much and drove home and killed someone (maybe himself). Now we're not allowed to serve alcohol on NM flights. So I know we're being more diligent now. Not sure about anyone else.

I was on a plane at 7 in the morning on my 21st birthday, coloring in a "Women of Politics" coloring book, and asked for a jack daniels and coke and a glass of wine. My ID was checked.

I don't think this being Indio has anything to do with it, Tom, since the only time you're ever here is when the all ages worldwide party crew comes for 3 days...All 85,000+ of them that is...

Its like the Infinite Monkey Theorem, if you put X amount of monkeys in a room with a typewriter and ask them to give you Shakespeare 99% of them will fling their shit at you while the other 1% will masturbate in the corner.

It is a pretty silly rule. Lollapalooza has a bigger daily attendance than Coachella and you can drink your beer or wine anywhere in the park.

rules vary in different cities, states, counties & countries, etc. often they make no sense to us civilians.

some cities you can not buy alcohol on sundays.. some places you can only buy the little individual shot sized alcohol bottles. some places you can only buy alcohol in special stores. some places you can buy alcohol DRIVING through a drive through window (that seems insane). some places only sell 3.2% beer instead of the full 5+ % beer. makes no sense.

There's a drive through liquor store a block away from my house. All they have is Corona and Bud Light. So it's useless.

I really don't want any bros carrying three beers in each hand trying to squeeze past me while enjoying my favorite band in the Gobi.

My only complaint about Lollapalooza was having dudes dumping beer on me as they pushed their way towards the front of the crowd.

Yeah i have a few drive thru liquor stores near me. But that's nothing compared to New Orleans where you can buy giant cups of frozen daiquiris in to-go cups with straws in drive thrus
