    This show has tanked.
They needed to get back into large city instead of this backwoods moonshine shit.

If there was an actual zombie apocalypse all these mother fuckers would be dead. I get that this is a soap opera for the 2010's but it's trite bullshit.

I didn't think they'd actually kill Lizzie until she finally snapped and killed Mika. even then I figured they'd show Lizzie how Mika changed and that Lizzie would have a change of heart, but really that's the only way they could (should) have handled it. part of me wishes that Carol would've let Mika turn and then turned Lizzie so that they could have played zombie tag together.

I guess Steinbeck was last night's writer.

This show has totally lost it after last season. The only reason its still doing good is because its a supplement for Breaking Bad which will never be topped. The producers are going to keep this shit train alive for as many seasons as possible. $$

The character developments have become the main focus. Does exciting stuff actually happen anymore? So they'll go into this new fucking town and some other bullshit will happen that will take the next whole season to bring resolve too, in which something else will happen that takes yet, another whole fucking year to explain. The biggest development they need to write in is a time machine so we can go back in time and kill all the characters off. good lord.

    Awww, right?

I didn't see Mika's death coming at all, but I gotta say Lizzie deserved it.

I cried, too. But I had a feeling I would when I noticed Scott Gimple was the writer of the episode.

I see that I am not the only one who thought that Carol would make Lizzie watch and then let whatever happened with Mika play out, whether Zombie Mika bit Lizzie or Lizzie finally snapped out of it and took out Zombie Mika, because Lizzie's coping skills were so broken. The kid needed to snap out of it, or die. Carol was right in that Lizzie could not longer be around other people. Jesus! Everytime they showed Tyreese and Carol out, away from the kids? I kept thinking, You can't leave them alone! They keep getting into trouble everytime they are on their own! So, yeah, I felt like Lizzie's death was inevitable. But I had hoped Mika would make it.

I am still enjoying that they are spending time on more character development.

Yeah, that place had a very odd vibe to it. The fact that she was the only person out in a peaceful spot. Curious to see what happens with the biker gang. Season is gonna end on a shit cliff hanger and we have to wait for next season. Waited this entire half-season for these two episodes (IMO), gonna be a bust.

I definitely expected Terminous to be something a little more secure/reinforced that that open gates/flower beds hippie commune bull that presented itself. But that made it all the more unsettling. Was that Mary lady pregnant? Or was that just costuming that made her belly look "full"?

But yeah the preview for next week, and the ominous tone of the description of terminous by Ginger commando "The End of the Line", as well as Maggie being all like "You won't ever need a picture of me again!", definitely makes me think death is in the cards for someone in the main cast.

Have they ever done a finale without a main character death? Mid season finale even?

When the group was running the gauntlet there appeared to be a cage full of bloody remains, along with what seemed to be a human rib cage. It was quick and I am on a ton of meds, but I think that's what I saw. Definitely got that vibe from the Terminus crew and the prison group living like cattle awaiting slaughter in the train car.

That's definitely what you saw, Steve. Seems like they combined a couple of the storylines from the comic book, or at least expanded upon what the cannibals were able to build.

I really liked the finale and was pleasantly surprised to see no main cast members go the way of the dodo this time around.

For the first time in maybe ever I am excited for the next season.

I wish people wouldn't post spoilery stuff from the comics in here, though...

I don't mean my posts as spoilers, the show has been a dragging bore for a few seasons already and if a lowly peon viewer like myself can predict the upcoming, well then the writers are lazy fucks. ..The show is nowhere near the comic

That was one of the best episodes in the history of the show. The Hershel flashbacks were brilliant. It was trenchant writing to juxtapose the two fathers in The Walking Dead and show how a father's role has undergone a metamorphosis post-Apocalypse; empathetic and sanguine men like Hershel used to be perfect parents but in this world the ultimate measure of a father's merit is his ability to keep his child alive and cultivate in him the callousness needed to subsist. Rick biting Joe's neck would be an egregiously maladroit act of inhumanity before the apocalypse but now visceral violence and animalistic brutality like that are just as crucial to survival as the consumption of water. Rick should be applauded for helping Carl transform into a monster because in this world you have to be a monster to survive.

This finale was a perfect way of bringing everything full circle and capping Rick's arc this season.
