It's good. It does a fine job of establishing things.
It didnt blow me away or anything, but it does a fine job of setting things up and getting them rolling.

The biggest shock to me was that the lead is the Brit dude that pined for Keira Knightley in Love, Actually and tried to get in on the toke during "Spliff Politics" in Human Traffic.

I noticed it as well, but I think it may have been intentional, kind of like the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Perhaps the director wanted it to have a grittier feel to it?

It's because they shot it on 16MM. I loved the premiere. I thought they did a great job, and i will be tuning in on sundays.

I enjoyed it very much and kinda sad that it's only got a 6 episode committment. Hopefully the ratings justify an immediate order more.

Also, for those of you that have read the books, i'm guessing a major character bites it for the season finale (or is that too far ahead in the books?).

Good to hear. I'll have to re-watch the premiere... I didn't notice any problems with the picture quality.

Kinda reminds me of when TNT first showed Saving Private Ryan. Apparently TNT received numerous complaints about the color saturation even though the scheme was intentional.
