Still torn between this and aphrodite. Its only 10 to get into respect.

When i get my license back I'm going to respect all the time, Aphrodite is a stateside act that comes around more often than Modeselektor. I know Aphrodite isn't around all the time, but still more than Modeselektor i would imagine.

Aphrodite is actually from the UK . To be honest I haven't seen his name on flyers in awhile now. I'm not sure he is as active as he was five to ten years ago.

Really? I always thought he was a stateside act, Doanld always coming through with jungle factoids. I'm pretty sure he played Burning Man but that was probably either a branch off of the Respect booking or the other way around. Modeselektor is also an act that is newer and growing in popularity that will most likely be coming around more and more often as time goes on, while Aphrodite is the exact opposite. This is one of those situations where you wish you could be 2 places at once haha. Don't know what time the Modeselektor show ends but last time i went to the El Rey the show ended at 12:00, so if you really wanted to both are possible haha.

Yea, Aphrodite had a very distinct sound of D&B he produced and played and that style isn't as popular as it used to be. It happens over and over again in all genres of EDM. He hasn't kept up with some of the other old timers as far as DJ skills go like Hype or Andy C. I'm really going more for nostalgia than anything.

Curfew is 12:30 at The El Rey fyi. They generally dont go past midnight though.

Oh that is awesome. I was thinking the show would go until 2AM but now that is not the case I feel a lot better about this show. Thanks for the info.
