would be awesome!!!!!!
My only concern with booking The Stones is they would have to sacrifice some of the great undercard we had last year to afford to book a band like that.

On record yes, but I've seen them three time in the 28 years since and they are still a fantastic live show..., similar to McCartney, doesn't matter how old they are, the set list they can put together is simply beyond reproach and they still somehow are able to bring it live.
Trust me, would be a fantastic, fantastic show...Hot Rocks plus ten
Not interested. They're practically catatonic at this point.
The stones are long past due.

I saw the Stones on their Babylon tour in like 98. I was a kid and I wasn't impressed. Blues Traveler opened and stole the show imo. You really don't want this at Coachella. If your really fiending for some stones, pay 100 bucks and see them in a stadium the next time they come around.
Acts like Prince and Roger Waters are special headliners for me since they are acts I wouldn't see outside of Coachella (though its not because I don't like them). I see the Stones in a same light. It would be great to see them once, and it would be even better if it was Coachella where my $300 tickets gets me them plus everyone else.
It's official, Keith Richard has just confirmed the Stones will be touring in 2011. And that it will be their last tour (I actually believe it this time!).

I am not a huge Stones fan, but they would be a huge headliner for any festival. However, I am not sure they would play Coachella. I think they can make more money playing their own mega-gigs in Southern California. They would probably do Bonnarroo or something.
One of the drawbacks of the Stones is the huge number of fratboy bro's they bring out. Expect lots of high fives, chest thumping and loud comments of 'how epic' this will be through the 3 days.
12/6: Japandroids/DIIV
1/10: Mister Lies/Matthewdavid
It will be their 50th anniversary in 2012. So they will tour by then. And (of course) it will be dubbed the 50th anniversary tour.
ick...... please no stones, Eagles, Credence.. any of that mess.
I honestly do not like the Stones at all. That being said, they'd be a cool headliner for day 3. And I agree with what someone said above, I'd never pay to see them on their own tour so them playing Coachella is about the only chance I'd get. And we all know all their songs anyway. I'm sure they put on a good show. They aren't as good as McCartney or Waters but I'd take them over the Who or U2.
Saw them in 2003 with Ryan Adams, it was great...are they old as shit? Well of course they are, but beneath that cigarette stained, droopy skin and behind Keith Richards tin-man like approach to rock moves lies the rolling fucking stones...show a little respect guys!
