Do they allow generators in RV camping? I thought I read somewhere,"No generators"...

I saw a couple of towed campers with generators last year. Shouldn't be a problem.

question - are you permitted to come in a big 40-45 foot motorhome, or only a smaller towable that's brought in with your car?

Anyone know if you have to have a Class C to drive a RV?

Do I have to now go take some classes to be able to drive this thing to Coachella?

And would it be unwise to book the rental until we've got confirmation they'll allow RV's or is it typical to have them?

You can drive a 40' RV with a regular license.

BTW Class A & Class C in RV-speak means body style.

Looking at that map, even though it has nothing to do with me, just makes me giddy.

So I have never done RV anything before but my friends are interested. I found a 35 foot RV for 1,200 and the coachella pass is $250 bringing my total to around $1,500.

How much more extra will I spend (Propane, H2O, Generator, etc)?

I know it's a broad question with a bunch of variables. But any estimate will do

All that stuff is included in the cost of my RV that im renting (and they deliver it for you)....the one im looking at is either a 30 or 31 foot though. It was like 1350 for the 30 ft and sleeps 6 and 1530 or something for the 31 ft and sleeps 8

you guys are paying a ton for your rv's, yikes. who are you going through?

check craigslist or other owner/renter sites. there are quite a few people that own rv's these days that are having trouble affording them and will gladly make a deal for a weekend to recoup some of their costs.

    try here: http://sharemycoach.com/

they have class a's from $179/day, class c from $149/day. says on the site they will even pick you up at the airport and drop you off at the end of the trip.

they are in stanton, right to next to huntington beach here in orange county, which i believe is the hometown of mr. ivankay. easy drive from there out to the desert.

I'm getting two spots this year. I'm bringing my RV & my neighbor is letting me borrow his 35' RV. Now, I just need a white picket fence.

Cruise America has an awesome deal for any reservations departing before June 1, 2011. Rent an RV for 3 nights, and get a 4th night free. I got a 30' RV, 'designed' to sleep 7 (so for Coachella, double that shit!), for 4 nights, coming from LA for $527, including tax and mileage. This doesn't include the $500 damage deposit, which brought the grand total to $1027, but I expect to get that $500 back. If you can wrangle together a decent size group to split all the costs, renting an RV can be a pretty economical way to go.

If you have the RV delv and set up there. What would you do for parking? Can you park there on the grounds for the 3 days?

I still wish they would let me buy two RV spots. I got a wide stride.
