Highlights of the year in no particular order.

The National - Sasquatch and The Wiltern (Sasquatch show might have a slight edge because of the huge amount of people that were into the set, the performances were about equal)
Joanna Newsom - The Orpheum L.A.
    Jay-Z - Coachella
    Jonsi - Coachella
    Massive Attack - Sasquatch
Faith No More - The Warfield
Mumford & Sons - The Rhythm Room
    The Dead Weather - Coachella
    My Morning Jacket - Sasquatch

which English Beat? Dave Wakeling & a bunch of nobodies, or Ranking Roger and the rest of the original lineup without Dave?

Dave Wakeling for sure... I thought Ranking Roger and other original members were there too. I guess not. I'm obviously not that familiar with them. This was at a small club and the energy was crazy

In the order they're popping into my head:

    -Fever Ray @ Coachella
-Flying Lotus @ Low End Theory
    -Daedelus & Busdriver @ Audiotistic
    -RJD2 w/Live Band @ The Casbah
-Apparat @ Lightning in a Bottle
    -MONO @ The Casbah
    -Jonsi @ Coachella
    -Bassnectar @ Lucent L'amour

I just love how there are going to be at LEAST 10 more shows within the next 2 1/2 months that will be better than most of these.

The thread title and first post don't appear to make this distinction. Most didn't rank at all. Just sayin'

historically the "So we're halfway through..." threads have always been "best of" style list threads. Sometimes people aren't ready to actually qualify ranking orders/numbers. But the intention is always talking about the best of somehting.

Right. The "So we're halfway through 2010" thread isn't for people just to spout out all the albums they've listened to in 2010. What would be the point of that?

Well, it was a back2back, and I can say those two shows combined rank higher than any individual show by a longhsot. Maybe one of the Lateralus tour shows was better individually but that was so long ago (and I was so young and drunk) that I only remember bits and pieces of each. These two shows I remember everything and the band, as a personal favor, addressed all the complaints I had going in.
