Black Sabbath, David Bowie, Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd, Rush, Sex Pistols, Ramones

Pistols.
They influenced more bands today than anyone since Chuck Berry and The Beatles.
The Pistols influenced N'sync. That's about it.
Sorry Tom, I responded to this thread before you even had the poll up.

Yeah, see, that's what I meanThe Pistols influenced N'sync. That's about it.
I wonder how many votes BOC will garner
the velvet underground.
i like songs from the sex pistols, rolling stones, fleetwood mac, and the ramones the best from the list. but im not and never was too familiar with any of them.
VU only released 2 albums in the 70s that were not nearly as good as the ones done in the late 60's
RAPE STOVE
white power?!
Really? I am more partial toward their S/T album.
RAPE STOVE
white power?!
and i will plead ignorance on this one. i thought the lou reed albums were from the 70's. could be wrong. not the first time.
I will go home and listen.
RAPE STOVE

where's the Sabbath?
Zeppelin does sound like a good choice until you remember... oh, wait. I was thinking III came out in '69 too. I guess I can understand picking them even though you're missing their best album
Queen have one more album and... yeah, I'm gonna say their best album is from the 70s.
Was Neil Young disqualified because he's not a band? He put out nine studio records and the six of them I've heard are all stunning.
I have been treating these as dealing only with output from the stated decade.
Though, honestly, I think Queen would gain more than LZ by including their entire catalog because they'd be adding more albums. And while the first LZ album may be better than any 80s or 90s Queen album almost all of those Queen albums are good.
This one is easy Led Zeppelin however, I also love the following:
The Who
Queen
The Ramones
I saw the Ramones in the 80's when they were all still alive. I saw Blue Oyster Cult in the '00's at a NASCAR race. My favorite was the Doors - but you didn't list them, so I had to choose Led Zeppelin. I must say my best concert in the 70's was Genesis, on their first American tour. I saw them in the same 600 seat auditorium that I saw the Ramones.
The Clash should have been on the list instead of The Bee Gees. Come on.
