Because the poll only allows for 10 choices, here are some additions:
Pearl Jam
Radiohead
Rage Against The Machine
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Smashing Pumpkins
Soundgarden
Stone Roses
Stone Temple Pilots
Tool
U2
Wu Tang Clan
Edit: Uncle Tupelo

Your missing Pavement, Neutral Milk Hotel, Sonic Youth, Smashing Pumpkins, My Bloody Valentine, and quite a few others.
NIRFUCKINGVANA
i vote for all but 3 or 4 on this list.

meh I'd consider the Pixies more of an 80s band considering Surfer Rosa and Doolittle came out in the 80s.
Radiohead
Flaming Lips
Smashing Pumpkins
Nirvana
Beck
Bjork
Outkast
Pavement
Weezer
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Everything Metallica did in the 90's was crap.
My favorites out of the ones listed are AIC, Nirvana, PEARL JAM, Radiohead Soundgarden, STP and Tool. However I also
My vote goes to PJ
Other notables (most better than what the current options) include: Butthole Surfers, Blur, Massive Attack, Beck, MBV, Portishead, Primus and Garth Brooks
RAPE STOVE
white power?!
Why are GnR on this list? What did the 90's consist of for them? Lies about Chinese Democracy?
Radiohead/U2/Nirvana
If we're considering solo artists, then PJ Harvey too.
Courtney, you are awesome
I'm kinda shocked by the lack of Nirvana love so far. I mean, even if you don't like them, you have to respect what an essential part of 90s music they were.
I actually agree with your assertion (and 5 is exactly the right number), and have said so at some length on the old board (where I said that Green was the most disappointing album of all time). But most don't see it that way, and people drooled over Automatic for the People and other 90s output more than the 80s stuff.
Green Day. That's some funny shit....
I'll take you. I can't promise to stay soft the whole time, though.
Nirvana would be my third choice...thats not a bad thing considering how many choices I have.
RAPE STOVE
white power?!
Yeah, I never got that.
I was a huge REM fan up until "Document", I guess I just didn't like their sound anymore after that.
I think the fact that they weren't "college" anymore also made them less attractive to me at the time (musical snobbery at its finest).
"Life's Rich Pageant" is one the great underrated albums of the 80's, though.

Fugazi.
Hahha. Apparently, I didn't see them on the list the first time around. Because I suck.
I'm voting NIN since Radiohead is not in the poll...... But yeah Radiohead is up there Nirvana also. Foo Fighters end up being a huge biproduct of Nirvanas destruction of course.
