    Default Tame Impala

I like these guys. Tame Impala hail from Perth, Australia and are currently signed to Modular Recordings . They just backed MGMT in the 'Congratulations' US tour and are promoting their debut album "Innerspeaker" that was released this May. Check it.

Yep, one of my favorite debuts in awhile. Don't know if we needed a thread about them though, most people around here seem to be familiar with them.

Just so ya know, it always says that and the line is always long for sold out shows and they won't release their tickets until the headliner is about to start, if their history of action says anything.

And I'm stoked for that show!

I saw them at the Silverlake Lounge earlier this year and they were really good. The chick bass player looks completely bored the entire time, but that doesn't affect the performance much.

I spent their entire Sasquatch set trying to figure out if that bass player is a boy or a girl, but I'm pretty sure it is a boy. Wikipedia says Nick plays bass live but that Dominick used to.

haha I thought the same thing of the bass player being a girl in one of their live videos on youtube. They have a 2nd guitarist live too right?

Yeah, the lead singer sings and plays guitar, and another guy just plays guitar.

I thought the video was pretty cool. I would imagine them maybe being a little more jam oriented live kinda like Deerhunter, is this at all the case ?

and I could use an extra ticket as well. Luckily most of my friends bought their tickets early enough, except 1. might be willing to trade a Little Dragon ticket for 1/8.

I don't recall them being jam-oriented or not jam-oriented. Innerspeaker was the house music at the Black Crowes show I went to last night before the band took the stage though, which was cool.

They're amazing live. I saw them last time they were here. They played two shows at the Bootleg that were sold out but saw them free at a Monday residency show at the Echo. They were the opener that night for the residency band, Rainbow Arabia. A pleasant surprise! It turned out to be their first ever L.A. show. Set list:

    Desire Be Desire Go
    Make Up Your Mind
    Alter Ego
    Solitude Is Bliss
    Skeleton Tiger
Half Full Glass Of Water Wine

nice. I find myself liking the album more and more every day.

Amoeba finally got the non-import release of the cd in like 2 weeks ago if anyones been trying to get the cd and having trouble finding it like I did. The cover is nice, I would imagine the inside album art to be cool as well so definitely worth owning.

I'm also eagerly awaiting them to re-release the vinyl copy of it as well. Hopefully they do.
