In Arizona the Tea Party has made a concerted effort to win control of the state Water Commission. They figure no one ever pays attention to that board and so they can rally their people to vote for their slate and control it.

Their mission: to abolish the Water Commission. Because water doesn't need regulating. In Arizona. In the middle of a fucking desert.

I read about this so I went into the poll this mornign with a list of the Water Commission candidates who are not Tea Partiers and was sure to vote for them. (the Water Commission race is not party-affiliated, so you can't tell by looking at the ballot who is with what party). My bet is though that most people didn't know about this and the Tea Partiers will win and then we'll not have any more water.

But Giants spokeswoman Staci Slaughter tells KNTV they have yet to take that call.

Slaughter says team personnel gave the White House the private line into manager Bruce Bochy’s office, as well as other numbers for Obama to get in touch — but so far, nothing.

The Giants, though, are used to waiting.

It’s been 56 years since their last series title.
