    Default Hey, Wanna Come Over and Slap Your Meat On My Grill aka the Bay Area BBQ Club

    This has been a spin off from the Record Club. Every few months or so, we'd get together and grill/cook up some food to share. It becomes a pool party in the warmer months.
    The next one will be Sunday, November 23 (pool is closed).
    My place is kinda small, so the number of guests will have to be limited, unfortunately.
    Let me know if you'd like to join.

    You're more than welcomed to slap your meat on mine. It doesn't get the amount of slapping that it should.

    I have a healthy amount of meat I can throw in the mix.

    And I can probably host one down the road too. I have a decent grill situation at my house.

    Good God, I'm going to crochet those two lines on matching ketchup and mustard koozies, one sentence for each.

    I want to thank everyone that came over last night! Can't really ask for more than good eats and great company when having a BBQ.
    Although, I completely failed at making a meat baby, the baby did not fail us in making bacon burgers.


    For those that asked for recipes:

    Whiskey Apricot Chicken (for 4 servings):
    Marinade:
    1/4 c Dijon mustard
    1/4 c brown sugar
    2 tbsp soy sauce
    2 tbsp whiskey/bourbon
    1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
    4 boneless chicken breast halves

    Basting Sauce (to be simmered):
    1/4 c apricot preserves
    2 tbsp white wine vinegar
    2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
    2 tsp Dijon mustard
    2 tsp honey
    red pepper flakes

    Sopapilla Cheesecake:
    2x croissant rolls (roll out to fit 9x12 baking dish)
    3x packages of cream cheese
    1.5 c sugar
    1.5 tsp vanilla extract

    Bake at 350* for 45 min. Drizzle honey on top when done.

    A lot less than I thought I would have. Everyone definitely brought their appetites.
    Only about 6 burgers and 5 pieces of steak. The chicken got devoured, and the appetizers and dessert were almost gone.
