How about when the government built high rises and stacked poor black people as high as the sky and fenced them in. Then law enforcement decided to stop dealing with those places and society looked at them as an eyesore. That was pretty fucked up times for black people. That's right 28 high rises 16 stories each. They built those high rises to house 11,000 people. The government filled them with around 27,000 at their peak. 95% unemployed and the gangs did their own law enforcement while the government continued to ignore the problem.

There's enough stories there to write 50,000 more episodes of the Wire.

The good news is they finally demolished them.

Its like the Infinite Monkey Theorem, if you put X amount of monkeys in a room with a typewriter and ask them to give you Shakespeare 99% of them will fling their shit at you while the other 1% will masturbate in the corner.

Most of my knowledge of those projects does indeed come from that fucking movie.

It's actually the Robert Taylor homes. At one time the largest housing project in the country. At one point over 300 shootings took place over the course of one weekend. In 1983 and infant was left in the hallway for a moment while grandma went to get the phone. There were over 50 people in the hallway at the time of the abduction. No one was ever arrested and to this day she has not been found.
