Long-running TV shows should absolutely have their own threads - there are far too many people who are seasons behind for you to start talking about Skeevie being in prison and Uncle Louie getting shot by Annie and the like. I remember waiting till the end of Sopranos and knowing full well what happened with a few of the major characters because the radio dicks would just blurt the plot lines out in the middle of a conversation. Annoying.

GIRLS is probably new enough that it doesn't really need a thread. I guess. And since the plot lines are... uh... not exactly revelatory, I dunno. Whatever.

I wonder how much the thread for Episode VII is bothering Hanna.

i'm finally watching mankind: the story of us. so far i'm a bit disappointed; it's not as good as the america one. for one, they kinda jumped into the agricultural era. i know there's not really written history of our hunter gatherer ancestors, but they could have spent more time on them from a scientific perspective. second, i don't really need an hour on fucking jesus. i'm also disappointed at the lack of information about smaller communities like the native americans. and the war historian guy seems psychotic.

The Office has been on a downward spiral for years now, but this season there have been some moments this season that have been pretty great. Last night's episode made me wish Bob Odenkirk would have replaced Steve Carell from the moment he left. Best episode in years and it was thanks to his appearance.

So I've decided to cancel my Netflix subscription at the end of the month (realized I'm wasting to much time in front of it). Any suggestions for a show I should power through before I cancel it?

You really can get lost and sucked into this never ending "one more episode" vortex.

    Try SONS OF ANARCHY.
The first 4 seasons are up, 5th will probably be there later this year when season 6 starts on TV.

I burned through those 4 seasons in like 3 weeks. Such a good show (and I barely knew much about it aside from revolving around a motorcycle gang).

I'm curious to see an episode of GIRLS but can't find any for free online. I was hoping HBO would still have the pilot available but no dice. Any alternatives outside of torrents?

I agree so whole-heartedly with this! it is very much a soap opera, but it's highly addicting and very well made.

Thanks for the suggestion. I was looking more for a comedy type show. I probably should have been more clear. I just want that over a drama series because If I don't finish before I cancel, which I am going to do, I don't want to feel incomplete or whatever. I feel like with a comedy if I don't finish I will be OK. Or maybe I should just stop being such a bitch and lock myself away for the remainder of the month and just go to town on it and other shows.

Yes. Best guest appearance in eons, and probably the best episode this season (helped by the fact that they've apparently left Hot Boom Mic Guy™ behind). And Odenkirk also underscored for me how ill-handled the Will Ferrell arc was. I get why Pam didn't take the job, but the Michael Scott doppelganger was a reminder of how good this show used to be.

Try THE IT CROWD, then. It's show from England and lolarious. I think theres only 24 episodes in total, and almost all are comedy gold.

HBO Go is only for people who have cable/satellite tv with HBO subscription, right? Useless then for people who got rid of their cable/sub to HBO.

HAHAHA yeah I've seen it. I always thought it was a stupid show when it first came out. Then I was bored and it was put on instant stream so I watched an episode. Needless to say a few days later I saw both seasons and streamed the third one online site. And yes Rafi is great.

I've been thoroughly enjoying The Office since the Florida arc at the end of last season. From when Mike Scott left to that story arc (basically a season's worth of episodes) it was reeaaaaally bad, worst it's ever been. However, this season is tying things together really well and so far letting the show go out with a bang.

I have yet to see this week's episode but hearing that Odenkirk makes an appearance makes me giddy.

    From last nights ep

And idk why people say the office was ever bad. I have loved it all these years. Even the more recent ones.
