I haven't gotten around to seeing it yet, but I'm looking forward to it. Heard the second episode was a big step down.
A second run of Black Mirror starts on the 28th, which I'm very excited about. The National Anthem is still the most affecting bit of tv I think I've seen, even if the non-Brooker episodes weren't nearly as strong.
The past few months I have gone on an absolute tear watching shows that I have heard were good by word of mouth but have never bothered to watch before. Since November I have watched the entirety of, in order: Homeland, Oz, The Wire, Breaking Bad. Thought Homeland season 1 was really good, but season 2 was lacking. Oz and the Wire were both amazing. Breaking Bad equally addicting, despite not being able to deeply explore ethnic/religious/sociopolitical themes like Oz/the Wire. Now, on to the next show.
I'm deciding between the Walking Dead, True Blood, and Californication. Which of these 3 should I watch next? I will eventually watch all 3. Just wondering which should be next. Bonus points if you're caught up with all 3. Or at least the first two supernatural ones, so you can objectively say which of those two you like more. For what it's worth, I think Twilight fans are weirdos. I don't know why but I have yet to come across a passionate fan of both Walking Dead and True Blood. People seem to only love one or the other.
Also on the backburner (because I'm headed to law school) I eventually want to watch Suits, and Damages. Any insight on those two shows as well would be helpful. It's been a very long time since there was a legal show on air that I actually enjoyed (The Practice).

walking dead is a must watch! I like true blood a lot too, but like Amy said, it's been going downhill lately. I still can't stop watching though.
I started watching The West Wing for the first time a couple weeks ago and i am totally, obsessively hooked. it's amazing.

I tried to start that series a few years ago but stopped after 3 episodes when work got really busy and then never started back up. it's still in the top 5 in my netflix queue but I guess it's just a little intimidating for me to start a show with so many seasons. some day!
Thank fucking god 30 rock is over. It's community time bitches!!!!!
I had had the first season dvd set that i borrowed from someone sitting in my place for like a year. One night my internet wasn't working and I was packing boxes and wanted to put something on so i finally went for it and I ended up watching 5 episodes in one night. Then, by pure coincidence, the whole series just got dumped onto Netflix instant, so i've been plowing through it. It's not what i was expecting at all, even though i was already an Aaron Sorkin fan.

So what the hell happened to David Fincher? House of Cards looked great, had a great cast but like his last two films was just kind of bland.
Also with the advent of netflix and amazon only content would be consider that as Television? Does it fit this thread?
Watch Walking Dead and Damages first and foremost. Keep True Blood for sometime you're really high, and hold off on Californication till you're in a sex-induced hate spiral.
And if you REALLY loved The Wire and Oz, do yourself a big favor and go back to watch "Homicide: Life on the Street" start to finish. It's a fantastic series that didn't benefit from coming in a time when TV shows were allowed to take risks.. but by the same Wire/Oz guys, and featuring a bunch of the same players here and there.
Homicide is one of my all-time favorite shows, and my wife just finished watching all seven seasons Even the bad episodes are good, and the great episodes are like mini-movies that push every part of the human experience. It's not just "Law & Order" in Baltimore.
Thanks for the input. Homicide wasn't even on my radar but I'll give it a shot after Walking Dead (just started it, already addicted) and Damages.

I am vaguely interested but haven't watched yet. Part of me wants to watch just because I think this is a good distribution method.
Unless there's really something crazy about it I think it makes a lot of sense to include in here.
Then again I also think it'd make sense to talk about say Blood and Chrome or even Sex House here; others may be more picky.

I finished it. First few episodes were good then It takes a turn for the worst. I don't want to go into too much detail until others finish or give up on it.
Oh boy. I'll check out a couple more.

I know I talk about this show a lot, but Sunday's episode of GIRLS was fucking great. This is coming to be a phenomenal series, this season 10x better than the first.
I am really enjoying Girls as well. I usually get a few good laughs out of each episode.
The Americans was great as well.
I have had to give up on quite a few shows since moving in with the boys and giving up my DVR. So I am now going through netflix shows a lot more quickly since I don't have cable in my room. I am now watching Sopranos and Walking Dead. I am only on the 2nd episode of Sopranos but I can see myself getting through this one pretty quickly, I didn't want to turn it off last night.
