I know. I'm bummed. It's a long story...but I think my boyfriend will be there anyway. Sigh.
Tell him to wear your sunglasses so we can identify him.

Sucks to be you!
SO for everyone going, if you're interested, Tallguy, I, and some friends of mine also going to the show will be meeting up at Red Lion Tavern, most likely on the rooftop patio, around 7pm for pre-show drinking and bullshitting. you can drink out of a giant boot if that pleases you. The tavern and Spaceland are only a mile apart from each other.
driving directions between Red Lion & Spaceland

Very nice. That middle one is super excellent. And that first shot feels like their sound. Looking forward to seeing more.

Those pics look great, Pocket. Sigh. Next time, next time...
They were indeed great. I was back by the sound board and because of the fog I had a hard time seeing them though.
I also drank too much and was on the verge of falling asleep during the whole set. That ruined it a bit for me. They sounded delicious though.

I kept an eye out for you, Chris, no wonder I didn't see you haha.
Last night was pretty fucking awesome. Way better than last time I saw them and that wasn't a bad show by any means. APTBS destroyed, they played for just over an hour. Really dug the lasers on the sides of the stage, they didn't have those last time. Visually and musically, one of my favorite shows this year. After it was over I was kind of in shock as to how badass of a show they just put on.
I bought the Ego Death Tour EP and also the 7" box set.
Oh, and it was indeed very loud, but I did not require headphones.
EDIT: i mean earplugs. Duh.

Same here. I brought a pair of those shitty earplugs, but it sounds terrible with those in so I took them out. It was definitely one of the loudest shows I've been to, but it was bearable.
A little late... BUT! Best show I've seen all year. Foreal. When Oliver was looking out into the crowd and staring into your eyes towards the end, it felt like he was stealing your soul. Their performance was intense.
Useless Keys was an excellent opener. Light Pollution wasn't bad.
Great pics pocket!
Just bumping this thread to report this I got in an email:
As you may have heard by now, A Place To Bury Strangers were midway through a three week long, 18 show tour across Europe, when on Friday, 12/3, their van stolen in Rome, Italy outside the Blackout club in the venue's parking lot.
The band's gear was safe in the venue, but 1000 Euros in merch money, all of their suitcases and clothes, a lot of merch (t shirts, etc.) Dion's New Zealand Passport, the band's Macbook Pro laptop and numerous personal items and various other gear were in the van at the time of the theft.
Saturday's show in Pordenone, Italy and Monday's show in Bilbao, Spain have been canceled.
We've rented a new van in Rome and the tour should resume normally in Nantes on Tuesday. Sorry to the people of Pordenone and Bilbao for the cancelled shows. We'd only had to cancel a show one before in three and a half years of round the clock touring, so hopefully this will never happen again.
We've set up a paypal link for donations. The items stolen from the van were worth over 15K and that doesn't include the excess van rental charges, plane fare, Passport fees, cancelled shows, etc.

I'll be donating today to help out. That really sucks![]()

That sucks! Man, these guys are probably some of the coolest musicians I've met. They seriously love what they do and still remain music fans themselves. I'll pitch in to the fund. If anyone wants to help out another way, check out their other website. http://www.deathbyaudio.net/
Oliver has been making incredible boutique effects pedals for years. They sound like no other pedals I own and the service from their company is unrivaled. It'd be a nice way to put a couple more bucks in their pockets and either get some Xmas shopping done or just buy yourself new toys.
I'm a reasonable man, get off my case....
I fucking love his tech. Oliver's eyes light up like a cartoon if you bring it up. Dude is a true pedal geek. I've been drooling over a robot pedal, but have been put on toy restrictions until after Christmas by my wife. I'm going to approach her with the "we're doing it for the band" plea and see where that gets me. She loves them as much as me, so maybe.......

Ahh yes I've been dying to see them again and just chat with him about it. I have so much respect and admiration for him for just being able to be like "Hmmm, I want a new oscillating fuzz, I'll go build one."
I'll probably have to try the same thing with my girlfriend. She's kinda got me keeping it easy right now too since I've been just grabbing so much stuff off of Craigslist and eBay. She was telling me she'd get me a pedal for Christmas, and she want's me to pick it out. I'll explain to her the story and I'm sure she'd come around.
Hopefully we'll both have new Robots by the end of the year!
8bit anarchy! For a great cause!
