Default Predict Pitchfork's Score for Random Access Memories

Independent of what you think of the most-hyped album of the year, what score do you think will Pitchfork give to Random Access Memories?

Pretty sure that sycophantic 'cover story' does not presage a score below 8.

I was just wondering that myself. I think the fact that a review isn't out yet says a lot. They'll let the cover story play for a couple days before deciding which of their writer's luke-warm reviews will be the most palatable to their fan-base.

    I voted 7-7.4 btw.

the album doesn't come out until may 21. that's why their review isn't out yet.

    i'm guessing between a 9 and 9.5.

They're probably waiting for #10's opinion and review... In which I gave it a 5.0-5.9.

Should they apologize for not giving you a bangin' electro album?

I think they're probably just trying to find the right words. The internet is written in ink, and you only get one shot at this kind of thing.

What fraction of a Kanye equals a Daft Punk? I'm on the edge of my seat, waiting to find out.

Thank You. Being the "passionate fan" that I've been called, it's taken me two days to hear it out. My very first listen was spent bouncing around the tracks searching for any sound that was familiar. My first thought was, "How stupid are 70,000 fans gonna look standing around snapping their fingers and bobbing their heads on that polo field next year?"

No. But, a simple "sorry" for a shitty disco album might settle my ass down. I understand they're wanting to bring the idea of humans and technology together by catering to a wider audience. But, raving with my grandmother to what sounds to me like Mel Torme' and one of the surviving BeeGees just doesn't give me happy feet.

Holy crap. I recently adjusted my own score from 5 to 7 because Get Lucky and Doin It Right really grew on me. I would love to see those live.

Mitch, I thought the same thing, so I made a note of who was on the poll as of my post last night. And now I can laugh at all the people who are putting in votes of 8.4-8.9 after they already know the answer.

AHEM FEELS, GrossMagic, luckyface and VOLVOX17.

Pitchfork would've gave this album a 5.5 if it was by any other group, fact. It's a very mediocre album.

The first sign of Rolling Stone's ceasing to be relevant came in the early 80s when they gave good reviews to bad albums by old bands past their prime. This feels like much the same.
