I'll put up a link to my mix tomorrow when I've had some time to sleep and recover from the past week of madness (and I'm glad you liked it!)

Whoever sent to me, the album design is awesome and I'll be listening to it tomorrow. Kudos.

I am going to give Darkjustice a little more time to possibly post his impressions before I post a link to my mix. Might even post an ingredients list.

I finally had a bit of time to listen to my mix this weekend. It was quite the nice treat to see my package had arrived from Hawaii and included a post card "Aloha!". The CD came in a nice sky blue colored CD holder with ribbon. Courtney definitely put some tlc into this mix. It's mostly acoustic and would work on a nice drive to or day spent at the beach. In fact i'm surprised it didn't include any Beach House as any song from "Devotion" would have fit well onto this album. I haven't heard much by any of these artists prior to this mix and I was probably most familiar with Cat Power. That said it's a beautiful mix that really flows like a breeze through the palm trees. I was surprised at how much Firehose reminded me of Pavement. Mix highlights included the 3 song punch of Walking the Cow (Firehose), Random Rules (Silver Jews) and She (Gram Parsons) and then the beautiful close with songs by Dirty Three and Clogs. This mix really sounded cohesive and the songs seemlessly flowed.

    Here's the track listing.

    1. Generator First Floor - Freelance Whales
    2. That Right Ain't Shit - The Books
    3. Black Postcards - Luna
    4. Foxy Girl - Daniel Johnston
    5. Walking the Cow - Firehose
    6. Random Rules - Silver Jews
    7. She - Gram Parsons
    8. Homesick - Kings of Convenience
    9. Werewolf - Cat Power
    10. The Restless Waves - Dirty Three
    11. Last Song - Clogs

    Thank you Courtney!

This is what I sent to Corinna. I laughed when I got her, not knowing whether she would care for what I had put together or not, because the goal was to make a mix that you can put on during a long drive when you're getting kind of tired but really need to get somewhere, and you need some loud tunes to get you through that last hour or so:

    Karjalan Sissit – Purgatory
    Smashing Pumpkins – Starla
    My Bloody Valentine – Loomer
A Place to Bury Strangers – Smile When You Smile
Nine Inch Nails – We’re In This Together
    Swans – My Buried Child
    Hum – Green to Me
Melt-Banana – Giggle on the Stretcher
    Pissed Jeans – Closet Marine
Bad Brains – Don’t Need It
    Nirvana – Scentless Apprentice
    Wives – Babies
    Minutemen – Three Car Jam
    Dinosaur Jr – Budge
    HEALTH – Girl Attorney
Secret Machines – The Fire is Waiting
    7/23 - Fuzz - Troubadour (?)
    7/30 - Shabazz Palaces - Roxy (?)
    7/31 - Hamilton Leithauser - Echo (?)
    8/01 - Ceremony/Nothing - Roxy (?)
    8/06 - Herbie Hancock - Hollywood Bowl (?)

I very much like the mix even though I never drive. So many of those bands are ones I love! Plus - I'll be driving from Seattle to home in August and this will be the perfect thing to keep me up at night. Thank you very much!

    Devil - OhGr
    Man - Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Me and the Devil - Gil Scott-Heron

Cansei de Ser Sexme definitely knows what he's doing with these mixes. I loved the progression of the tracks. I've no idea what most of them were (there was quite a bit of post-punk-y stuff on there that was fantastic) but once he gets us a tracklist, I'll definitely be tracking down more of the tracks. Also, to reiterate yet again, the album art is fantastic.

Yep, Clogs is Bryce Dessner from The National and Padma Newsome and now a couple others. They get a lot of pretty phenomenal artist friends to collaborate with them, including Matt but also Sufjan Stevens and Shara Worden of My Brightest Diamond and other interesting folk. Their most recent album is one of the 2010 releases I have really been digging.

Attily painted you art on a canvas. I'm jealous.. I've been trying to purchase one of her pieces, but she won't sell it to me . Anyway, that is a good mix and I hope she posts a link to it.

I really want Cansei de Ser Sexme to post a tracklist and a download folder for y'all, because the mix is so ace.

I'll upload the one I made on Thursday: my parents' internet will not sustain a connection long enough for me to upload it here, but I'm going back to the bay area on Thursday, so I'll take advantage whilst I can.

OK, so I guess that is the mix I have. And it's fucking incredible. I've had it in the background the past two times as I read The Broom of the System, so I'm going to give it a very focused listen tomorrow.

    Total War is incredible.

I can't ever separate it from that YouTube video with the Disney/Nazi cartoons:

One of the recommended videos on that clip is a fan made video for DAF's "Der Mussolini." I'm getting all nostalgic for my industrial days.
